Is there a specific paint code for the wheel hubs on a stock classic or do you just match by eye? Non-chrome. Would you also clear coat the hub if you found the right hub color?

To be honest, your best bet is replacing them if they are scratched up...I suggest Ebay (despite the risks). I'll be doing that this fall when the chrome boots get stowed away.

I think I found the color and if so I will post pics and the paint code. I am about to go put some clear coat on it and see how it turns out. So far it looks great though. Nothing against ebay but I like to tinker around and get some experience. The paint they mixed me for the side trim matched exactly and it was a 5 minute job not counting waiting for the paint to dry. BaJ

Turned out great!!! Here are the pics. Sanded and Painted minus clear coat. With clear coat Compared to one of the others that did not need painted. The one on the right is the refinished one.

They are ABS plastic so I think you could sand any scratches out and refinish them. Its another easy job with a high "satisfaction rating" when done. I used 320 grit to sand my bad one down, cleaned it with rubbing alcohol, put 3 coats of paint and 2 coats of clear on it. It might be just alittle bit darker than perfect but not so you would notice it on the car.

Great Job!
Is it just the picture or does the one that you refinished have less of a metallic shine?

the flake in the refinished one is smaller and matches the flake in the rims better than the original!

Go buy up all the crappy center caps at the junk yard, refinish them, and off to eBay they go. Those puppies often sell for $15-20 each, and seem to be in somewhat high demand among Aurora owners.
