Hey all,
I am looking for new tires for my new 'rora. 1998, 74k miles. Keeping stock wheels, so going for stock size. Was looking for good All-Season tires, decent tread life and traction, and not too noisy. I know that is a lot to ask, but I am sure that with all of these Aurora owners here, that I might be able to get a consensus on what people liked.
So, what do you have on your car, how many miles do you have on those tires, what type of weather do you face, and are you are crazy leadfooted driver, or a peaceful mellow cruiser?
All I know is that I am sick of these Goodyear Intergrities, and I am going for better!!
Thanks all.

I have Delta Esteem's (local tire manufacturer.) They are cheap, light, ultra-grippy, quiet and have excellent tread life. I've got about 15k miles on them right now and only rotated them about 3000 miles ago. There was a good amount of wear on both of the front tires of course, but they probably have 30-40% of their life left. And I have been known to drive pretty spirited from time to time... lots of sharp corners where I live.

So, everyone else is driving on their wheels?
Boy, ask a simple little question to help a fellow 'rora owner out, and you can hear the crickets chirping...!!

I have Cooper Lifeliner SLE's on mine. Have had them for about 5000 miles now with absolutely no sign of any real wear, and I am sometimes a mellow driver, and sometimes a leadfoot, depending on my mood...lol. But seriously, these are the best tires I have put on any of my cars, and they were only $107 each installed and that includes lifetime balancing and rotation and roadhazard warranty.

what auroralover just told. ~20k miles on them and seems that I could use 'em on next season also. If only ... I am really sick of this horrible squeak they have, almost on every turn with some power they scream and make me feel like some 18w/beemer. Shame. I discovered this on a couple of warm days with AC-problems = windows down and notice ever since. Can't remember to hold my foot higher.... booked into tire shop for wednesday for some pirellis... and new rims.
auroralover, dont you have this squeak?
bottom line: no wear - no grip

no, I dont. These are the best tires I have ever put on any of my cars. If you are have those kinds of problems, I would take them back and raise hell and get them replaced.

I'm not the only one!! Read what I posted a bit ago about what my experince with the Integrities where: aurorah.proboards47.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=tires&thread=1134711921If you to read a harsh review, go to tirerack.com and read my review there. Sad thing is, I bought them new, out the door at the local Goodyear place, the bill came to $650. I'm at 29k miles, and they're done. Its really dangerous now, have to be on top of these, just going across an intersection once, at 50mph, trac on flashed on, and the car proceeded to change lanes. Luckily there wasn't anyone next to me. Goodyears replacement policy is B.S. too (though its probably about the same for all tire places), if you want to have the tires replaced under mileage warranty, the warranty is based on the miles driven so far and that's turned into the percentage of the warranty, 50,000 in the Integrites case, with my mileage I'd have to pay about 58% of the original price. I had the squealing too. They were very, very loud. My brother used the same quote "It sounds like an 18-wheeler about to crash."

I find the people here very helpful. Anyway, my 2001 has Michelin MXVs in back, and Cooper Lifeliners up front, and my wife's 2003 has Michelin MXVs in back, and Continental ContiPremierContacts up front. I don't notice any problems with either tire, although the 2003 handles better, but that could be due to many other reasons. I'm leadfooted 30% of the time

Yes, we have all agreed the GY Ingratefuls, I mean Integrity's, are just horrible tires and they seem to be everywhere on Auroras. Prolly because of the brand and they fit the wheels. I'm getting new tires in about a week or so and #1 is Falcon Ziex ZE 512, #2 Yokahama 4VS, #3 BF Goodrich Traction T/A, #4 Kumho ASX. Whichever I can get the best deal w/ mounting and balancing will win. These are all performance based tires, all season, and all about $100 ea. or slightly under.
You can check the treadlife, speed rating, and traction rating on any tire. These are the only specs that seem to translate to real world conditions. How long it will last is obvious, the speed rating is a rough idea on the ride and somewhat less so on handling, and winter traction ratings seem to be fairly close to reality. All else is feel and reputation.

Bridgestone Turanza's here, I really like them but I also got a great deal on them (next door neighbor is a plant manager at a nearby Bridgestone/Firestone factory ). I've heard good things in general about Kuhmo's, a co-worker has them on his '01 Cadillac STS and was very impressed in the ride quality / quietness / low price.

Well, I am sick of crappy traction on clover leaves, and jittery steering in s curves.
I had looked into the Kumhos, and had really been looking at the Solus KH16s and the Ecsta ASXs.
I hate to waste a tire with treadlife left, but I really hate these Goodyears!!
BTW, I have had the BFG Traction T/A's on a Nissan, and they suck! Could not hold in turns, and not safe in rain or snow! Only place they were worth anything was high speed straight lines. And after as much as they cost, I would not consider a BFG tire again.
So, either I will wait and be cheap and kill these tires, or if it really gets to me, I will just replace them. The ASX's look pretty good overall, and I have successfully run Kumho Touring tires on another car, and had great winter traction, firm rain handling, good gas mileage, and good overall dry performance.
Really, I just do not know which of the two Kumhos I am going to go with. They are only $4 difference in price, so that doesn't help, either...

I did some research and ended up buying Kuhmo's KH16s, they are reasonably priced, and to date, with 2500 miles on them, I think they ride fine, especially at crusing speed of 65-70 mph.

Take a look at the TOYO Proxes TPT's. They are fantastic. I have them on my '03 and have yet to hear a squeak from them going around a corner. Rain performance is fantastic as well.

... I am really sick of this horrible squeak they have... How much air do you put in them? 2,1ATM or whatever sticker on door says, or rather less usually, as front left tends to loose some air veeeery slooowly. Even tried with 1,8 - steering was very soft, still sang
