Friend of mine has a nice LaSabre, I believe it is. He's looking to get tires and he's comparing: Michelin P215/70R15 Symetry to Dunlop same size 97S SP40
The Dunlops are $50 and the Michelin are $94 each but I told him I didn't know much about Dunlops and was a bit concerned about road noise? Thoughts and thanks........

Aren't the SP40's the old name for the SP Sport A2's? If so, they are a good tire from what I hear, but so are most Michelins.

Thanks much, a 2000 LaSabre........ Have to check the Kumhos? Yes Michelin has always been a favorite of mine. Thanks again.

Do yourself a favor, and look at the Cooper Lifeliner SLE Touring tires before you make a choice. These tires replaced my Michelin Energy MXV4's and they are the best tire I have ever owned. Installed for $107 apiece....

I bought Michelin Symmetrys off Scottydl a while back for winter use (back when the Aurora was a winter car) I liked them more then the Energys.
Dunlop makes a good affordable product as well. Never hurts to read reviews at tirerack.com as Elan suggested.

So what did your friend get? I had two decent sets of Dunlop tires before getting burned by a crappy set of Dunlop Sports A2 (or something like that) for our old Intrigue. They wore out unevenly and were out of round. I found out later that Dunlop phased out that tire and replaced it with an 'improved' version. Still left a bad impression with me.
