Ladies, fellers.
I'm thinking its time for new set of wheels. I love my tires, but not feeling the rims anymore. Any suggestions for new rims? I'd like to jump up to 18's. My #1 choice would be the Razzi Aurora rims, but can't find those things anywhere.
How do you feel about 18" Solstice/Sky rims or 18" Lucerne.
have at it!

What triggered 18"s? Yea, no idea on the Razzi rims. I tried and tried, no luck. Solstice/Sky rims are out because they're 5x110mm lug pattern. Not sure about the Lucerne or Caddy wheels. While nice, I don't think they meet your "sporty" look. I know you like Pontiac rims, so what about the Grand Prix GXP's? Pending on whether you like the fake wheel bolts or not, they look sporty and are chrome too.

I love those 18" chrome Lucerne wheels, though on the Lucerne. Not sure how much I'd like them on a classic Aurora... photoshop anyone? They remind me of the chromes I've seen on Concordes, and 300Ms too I think. Also nice. Your tires/rims are 17" right? What are you doing with the old ones? I always wanted my next set to be 255s, maybe now's my chance?

Mang there is a plenty of choices for 18's, the possibilities are endless. Got to superbuytires.com to get some ideas.

I tried, I couldn't find a good back wheel pic of a Lucerne. Also, tracking down a 'regular' non-artsy pic of Jim's car wasn't easy . I used Rocket's car. I also added tint to get it close to Jim's.

ewww, yuck. No good. I know it's a photoshop renderin but still. Something is just... old-person about the Aurora with those rims. Agreed?

Ya, I agree...its better suited for the lines of the Lucerne. Scratch that idea...I appreciate the effort Shawn.
Nothing in the aftermarket rim world excites me. I guess I'm just super picky.
GXP rims seem to be the front runners now.
I'd consider selling what I have now, but I LOVE the tires.....

But how would you keep the tires if you got 18" rims? You may as well throw them away... to me

Dude, what's strange is that I have recently thought about replacing *my* Bonneville rims too. I keep going back to jrmbrenner's 17" Drifter's for sale in Marketplace: I mean those are a killer deal! But I think I like my CHROME too much... gotta have that shiny bling in the summertime! There are chrome GXP rims I believe, which I'd vote for if you can find 'em.

Yea, the Lucerne wheels are too heavy looking, brings the cruise missle theme down on a Classic. But, ummmm, yea I think the GXP's would look pretty cool.... I believe for the GP they're only available in chrome. Unless Scotty, you're talking about my Bonney GXP's which are only in silver. But Mille Migna (sp.?) makes an identical rim in chrome (it was used on the concept GXP, it's all in a thread over at BonneClub). They come in two different sizes, front is 18x8 with a 255/45 tire and rear is 18x7 with a 225/55 tire. Finding two set of fronts shouldn't be too hard.

What about the Bonnie GXP wheels instead? They didn't have those goofy wheel bolts. Bonnie: GP: Though honestly, you have a perfectly fine set of wheels, why throw money away? I guess I'm not a "rims" person.

And why not go wit the staggered sizing from the GXP? It's meant to tame the understeer on FWD cars, I bet it would work wonders on an Aurora.

You'd be buying your tires two at a time I bet. G-Unit, can't you get the wheels from GM? The car is only like 3 years old.

Yes, I could get them from GM Bob. But I think mushroom said in an old post that they were like 6 or 700 dollars per wheel.

Yea you can't rotate (though you can't do it properly with unidirectional tires like I have anyway). Which is fairly important on a FWD as the front tires will wear a lot quickler then the rears of not rotated. Plus I'm willing to bet the Aurora understeering a lot less then a V8-powered GP. With my sway bar upgrade and other mods I'm quite surprised how netural the handling is. Yea you can get the wheel from GM, but like Gunit said, they definitely ain't cheap. I got mine for $700 shipped from eBay.

MSRP on Bonney GXP's wheels are $695ea. Which is not that bad considering how much other factory wheels cost. A chrome 4.0 2nd Gen is $721.

Dude at those prices, I rather go aftermarket, non OEM's, you can buy beautiful wheels with a cheaper price than those mentioned above. It's no brainer why people go with custom wheels. I'm an Oldsmobile / GM fan, but I'm not that crazy.

Check car-part.com, that seems to be a good utility to find the cheapest listed parts out there.

Don't have a part#, I used that trademotion.com dealer site. You could pay that at like local dealer if you drive up in like an Escalade and acted clueless But like Scotty's been saying, the best way is definitely finding a set of dealer take-offs. Sometimes they come with tires, my mom got a set for her Suby for under $800.
