Well, I got the Taction T/A for a few reasons: 1. If I were to get some light snow I would be ok. 2. They do perform well and give great wet traction. 3. I've read the reviews and everyone loves them. 4. Summer performance tires are double the price of Traction T/A 5. They do exactly what I need! for our winters here, I have experience with all season Uniroyal Tiger paws. They couldn't make it up the icy hill! Or, a snow-packed hill. The tires were brand new, and in medium to heavy snow there was little traction. The tiger-paws as winter tires are awesome in the snow! So, we switched from all-season tiger paws to the Dunlop Graspic winter tires. It was a night & day difference! Those tires gripped in snow & ice! So, I'm going to use the Traction T/A from April to late October and get winters for the rest of the time. We have wicked storms here & in the beginning of this month we had a bad one with white-outs. My safety is my #1 concern and I will always use winter tires living in Canada! That sounds like a plan. Keep them on for the iffy months and only suffer full snow tires for the worst months, good idea. Cause you can always get that late April..May...early June snow storm in Canada. (Say, if summer falls on a weekend this year lets have a picnic.)

That's what I have on the Corvette. They are excellent in rain. I also tested them out in some slushy snow recently and they did just fine. I slowed down a lot, but they weren't scary or anything in the slush. The Vette saw snow?? How many hours of detail clean up afterward did you put into it?

The Vette saw snow?? How many hours of detail clean up afterward did you put into it? I drove it about 700 miles to Chicago to have the headers installed, then drove it back. It saw a ton of rain and on the way home I hit snow in PA. Who'd have guessed it in the middle of April? The car was absolutely disgusting. The way up it rained and the roads still had salt from previous freak snow the weekend before. All that salty water absolutely covered the engine bay. Fortunately salt rinses out fairly easily, it didn't take me too long to clean it up. The worst part was cleaning those K&N filters. I always find that to be a pain. I still need to rewash it and then clean and wax the paint. But it's taking another road trip next week so I'm not going to knock myself out yet. The car really is more fun to drive than to show, so I'm getting less and less concerned about it being spotless.

And yes, a picnic would be nice! But, the weather here has been mostly cold. Last weekend was the first look at spring with up to 20c in temperature, but it didn't last. We've been down to 6c all week, and rainy this weekend.

My comp TA's did great this past winter! Decent traction in snow. I never had problems getting around this winter at all.
