My dad tells me there is a 2006 Oldsmobile national car show, swap meet in Texas this summer. He went to the one in Washington state for 2005. Anyone interested in going? It would be fun to reserve an entire section of the meet for all of us! We could make it the first anual ACNA forum meet too, (unless that's happened already?) Of course we would need T-shirts, window decals and lots of other memorabilia for our club! Here's the info I was able to find on it. www.fusick.com/showschedule.htmBTW...I call first dibs on parking next to Blondie! ;D

I don't think my work schedule could allow a road trip to TX, it would be nice though. I'll fly down and bring a picture of the car

Great for southern members, but you've already lost the "First National" title. We did that last summer at the Carlisle Fairgrounds you see mentioned on that page. Where were you then? (j/k ;D ) It's great with all the new members to drum up interest and excitement, I support your enthusiasm. The Oldsmobile Club of America has lots of local chapters and I've always said we should have a link with them. The following might be a better link than one of the advertiser's pages: www.oldsclub.org/

Still do, but it's not my daily driver. The DD was a '94, V6 Camaro.

The corvette is inferior, too. Spoken like someone who's never had a Corvette! Actually, the Aurora was quite the upgrade over my 1987 Corvette. It took a couple years before I missed having one.

This would be the annual OCA (Oldsmobile Club of America) meet. I think it was in 2001 that it was held in NJ when I attended. Too bad I didn't have the '01 yet. I did bring my '53 88 though. They hold a pretty decent event but if you are looking for a more down to earth, friendly event, visit Rocketfest in Ohio every year. This should be closer for many of you. I'm still trying to make that one. www.rocketfest.com/Forget about the posting of the 50's cars, they love Auroras too and Franklin is a great guy - true supporter of Oldsmobile.

Good suggestion rocketman. The site looked cool. OCA is at the GM Nationals in Carlisle every year and they have a large tent and invite all inside, but it's not an Oldsmobile event and we're not yet OCA members. OCA seems to do a good job of spreading their national meet around to different parts of the country, but this year it's just not close to the majority of our members (according to the frapper map anyway). What about Ohio everybody?

This would be fun, but the last time i took a trip to vegas, when i came back, I had to replace my ALT, Radiator, and positive battery cable.......And right now my Car needs new exhaust, plugs, and plug wires, and a MAS................So right now i am just milking my poor girl.

I could probably do Ohio... Dunno though. Might not want to really meet some of you (haha).
I don't really understand that Rocketfest thing. Is it just for Rocket V8 Oldsmobiles from the 50s, or what? It says this:
"Celebrating the '49 to '59 Olds Rocket Engines"
then later this:
Any body or make - stock or custom! No club affiliation needed to participate!

Franklin focuses upon the earlier rockets but welcomes all Olds and other makes as well.
Drop him an email if you are serious about gathering and get his opinion. You'll get an honest, straight-forward answer.

I suggest mid-America, ex. Ohio, Indiana, Kentucky, Tennessee, something like that. If you do it on a coast it's going to be close for some people, and way too far for others, at least mid-America is a central point for pretty much everybody, the coasts might have a nice drive, but its better than living on the east coast and driving all the way to Vegas, or maybe even like 3 or 4 meets, one on each coast in the middle (East, West, then South, and then like one in the Mid-West) Everybody couldn't go to all of them but you could get some that would, and it should be a good turnout. I know it sounds like local meets, but they could be nationally afilliated but hey thats just my opinion, what do y'all think?
