Its that time of year again. Time to load up the Rora, fill her up with gas (MANY times, lol), and make the journey home.. This years route will take me from Tucson, AZ to Orlando and Fort Pierce, FL. Then from FL up the I95 to Maine! I was going to wait a few days before i made a thread, but im so excited for my trip this year that i had to post one today. I leave Friday morning at 8am and hoping to be in FL by Saturday afternoon at 3ish. Then i will leave FL Wednesday morning and be home Thurday morning. Because i leave friday, i will post Thursday night my starting miles on my car because i will be driving all around town before then. Then of course when possible i will check in with you all to let ya know the status of myself and of course the car!! Looks like this years trip will be about 3640 total miles and over 55 total hours on the road. When i get home i will write total miles and total cost in gas. (Looks like its gunna be little over $500!!! ) Wish me luck ya'll!!!

Have a safe trip!
Are you going alone or do you have someone to share driving time with? That's a lot of miles in a short amount of time.

Sweet, would you want to set up a meet or something with latenight, myself, and possibly itsda5oh? If you're going to be in Orlando on Saturday, would be an event to go to Old Town for the car show. We just had a pretty successful Cadillac meet there not two weeks ago.
Or if you already have plans or if we don't meet up, still would recommend Old Town to watch the old cars at least 150 every Saturday. Let one of us know...

Hey! Stop volunteering me for stuff. Who says I want to drive back up to Orlando? :-P
Seriously though, would be cool if we could all get together.

Best of luck out there on the roads. Your Aurora probably knows the way by now. Just to let you know about Maine. The snow is gone, mud season is over, and the black flies aren't to bad !! No Speeding !!

Glad you have some company. Sounds like a great road trip. Hope it's a safe on as well. Will follow your progress from my desk chair. You have a much better seat than I do. Enjoy.

Thanks for all the good luck wishes ya'll!!! Im wicked siked for this one!
As for the meet, I'll have to play it by ear for now. I donno what my buddy has planned for the weekend, but were all BIG car guys so we'll probably make it to that car show. I went to Old Town a long time ago and it was awesome, so it would be nice to go back. But once i talk to him, i will give one of you a PM and let ya know..
algonquin: Dont worry, it cost too much to speed now, gas prices are gunna kill me! Thanks for the Maine update too! haha

I couldnt get onto a computer before i left but my starting mileage was 174,255. Left Tucson at 9am and got to Orlando at 6pm the next day. So with the 3 hour time change, we made it in 30hrs. Not bad. Also we got pulled over twice, speeding in Texas (90 in an 80) and swerved by accident in Louisiana (cop asked my buddy if he was falling asleep cause it was like 330am). Didnt get a ticket from either one. Most expensive gas so far was 4.27 a gallon, was $70 even to fill the tank!!!! But the trip is goin well and i look forward to the drive up I-95 to home.

Seems like most classics make it to 200k+ with ease. That's really incredible. And people say domestics aren't made as well as imports. Take that honda! Guessing you're probably home by now, so I hope your trip went well sir.

domestics are its all in how you care for it my lowrider made it 160k and it ran strong as hell. I literally beat that car too being a lowrider is hard on a car especially when you slam the front sub frame on the ground repeatedly...or drag it lol

Hey ya'll! Made it home last week. I need to get a wireless card for my desktop so i can use internet, only have wireless at my house. ANYWAY, trip went awesome!!! Very proud of the Rora. Here are the numbers: Total miles: 3725 Total cost in gas : $569.27 Cheapest: Tucson, AZ at $3.76 Highest: Lake City, FL and NYC, NY at $4.27 (cost $70 to fill!) Avg. Mileage: 28.7 At one point on I10 we had 30.6, but that was only for a few hours till we hit El Paso, after that it was usually in the high 28's. Like i said the car was awesome. I did however lose a rear side marker light. Was meaning to fix it and put it off, and somewhere on I95 it flew off. So any of you with a parts car PM me cause i would like to buy one. Might take me awhile to respond cause of my internet situation.
Thanks to you all that were following my progress!!
