I drove back home to Lincoln, NE for a wedding this past weekend and i'm pleased to report that for the 840 mile roundtrip i got about 26 mpg at an avg. speed of 70-75 mph w/ the AC on half the time. I'm pretty stoked about it.

Point of comparison: that 1972 442 that I had before my Aurora would get less than half that at the same speed & A/C use.

Great report on that gas mileage. Sounds like your Aurora was running well besides.

I'm with you all the way... that's about the same mileage I got on our trip from IL to NY and back (over 1200 miles), and I had never seen numbers that high! The Aurora was driven 70-75 on the way out there, 60-65 (wife was following me in the "new" motorhome) on the way back. A/C on 100% of the time. So it sounds our Auroras performed about the same.

Yep. I was surprised as i've been having some rough idle problems. The engine sounds louder than it should and about half the time it'll vary at idle but i had no problems on the drive. I'm going to clean out the TB and perhaps check the coils if i can find a multimeter.

The western part of the state along I80 does, yes. There are gorgeous areas that nobody sees, however. I love the W-NW part of the state which houses this top-20 golf course in the world: www.golfclubatlas.com/sandhills1.htmlI would LOVE to own a ranch in western Nebraska someday, like Ted Turner.
