Do you think my aurora which is pushing 200,000 miles would make the trip from massachusetts, to Florida, then to Tennesse, and then up north to Missouri, and then crossing into Canada and back to Massachusetts without a problem my friends want me to bring it, but i'm a little nervous thinking it will be a bad idea the car has a lot of miles
What does anyone think?? Do you think the car will make it??

Well, its already made 200,000. If its running good and in general good condition with no daily issues then go for it. Just check your Aurora's fluids often.

unscheduled stops are part of roadtrip fun (for some people, just keep a positive attitude. Except to break down at least once, then when it happens it seems like no big deal). Just bring $500-$750 xtra cash for repairs ($100-$150 x 4people, I hope some pay for gas too), just don't use shady shop.
Don't worry about the $500 in repairs, spending it now and taking a roadtrip when you are 18, and breaking down with a bunch of buds is a lot more fun than spending $500 on repairs with two kids in the backseat and a wife in heels. (not that i know).
before any roadtrip:
-change oil/filter -change air filter -check all belts -maybe change coolant depending on age of coolant (anything over 3-4 years i'd change be4 a roadtrip, maybe 1 or 2 sealant tabs after a 1/2 drain or flush... thats a personal opinion) -take a couple xtra quarts of oil and a gallon of 50/50 premix coolant(make sure it's the right kind, dex(red) or green/yellow. -age of battery? -wheel balance/alignment (nothing like eating thru a set of tires for a roadtrip) -make sure to check tire pressure every few days while on trip -age of plugs/wires? -spare tire must have proper pressure (50-60psi i think?) -fuel filter age? -how is transmission fluid? (no flushing at 200k!!!, pan drops only) -bring a code reader (cheap, $30 if that), that way you know if you need to actually stop for a lean code or can ignore the bad o2 sensor.
don't let that list intimidate you.

I was just worried about the Aurora Actually making it that far My SES light has been lite for 6 years but seems like nothing is wrong withit we have taken it as far As Myrtle Beach SC at least 4 times with the light on should I be worried about taking it further than that with the light on? ??

If the light has been on for 6 years I wouldn't worry about it now. Just put a piece of black electrical tape over it and get going !!

It probably WOULD be wise to get the car scanned (it's free at many places if it's a 96+) to figure out why the SES light is on. Have it reset and if it never comes back on then you're really set.

Well When we put the new battery in the Light shut off for two days, but then it turned on again Then you still have a problem, do the scan and achieve peace of mind before leaving. At least, address the problem before embarking on a road trip of that magnitude.

Its a Black 1998 with The autobahn it has all the options, moon roof, Onstar phone, Everything Fantastic Car Car was built in December 1997 and delivered to the Dealer we bought it we are the first owners we bought it July of 1999 Ten years of working in a dirty metal shop and climbing in the Aurora to bringi it home it has been fantastic just a cleaning of the leather every 2 months or so to shine it up yeah if I had the money i'd look into if but I dont, anyway the road trip wont be until another 2 years rvrrat, this maybe a silly question, and don't take it wrong, but how old are you? you talk about being the first owner of your car purchased in 1999, that you have been working 10 years in a dirty metal shop, and that you are going on a trip after senior year of high school...in 2 years sounds like you bought the car and starting working when you were maybe 6 I am sure there is a logical reason, I just can't think of any...

Oh, OK I knew there was a logical explanation! I didn't really think you worked in a metal shop when you were 6
