A few quick reminders:
Lately I've noticed many threads titled in ways that are fairly broad or non-descriptive. There are also steps you can take to make your initial post as informative as possible, which will result in more & better responses. Please follow these few basic guidelines when starting new threads:
These guidelines refer more to the Maintenance sections of the forum, and not so much the areas designed for general discussions. Those spots exist more for having fun and freewheeling, so we can slack off a bit there.
The goal here is to make ACNA as productive and enjoyable as it can be, for all of us to share information and discuss this car that we love so much.
Lately I've noticed many threads titled in ways that are fairly broad or non-descriptive. There are also steps you can take to make your initial post as informative as possible, which will result in more & better responses. Please follow these few basic guidelines when starting new threads:
- Give your message a clear and appropriate subject. If you are asking a question, you want to get others involved in answering you, and an appropriate subject line helps.
- Do not use a subject such as "Please help" or "Strange problem" as it conveys nothing about what you are seeking help with. I personally tend to pass right over those types of subjects, and I'm sure many other readers do the same.
An example of a good subject line would be 97 oil leak or 02 dash lighting.
And in general... - Do not type posts in ALL CAPS LOCK. On the internet IT IS SEEN AS YELLING AND IS VERY ANNOYING.
- Use appropriate grammar, spelling, and sentence structure. The harder your post is to read, the fewer responses you will likely receive. That doesn't need much more explaining.
- Put your vehicle's year and mileage (at least) in your signature - see mine for an example. Many vehicle issues are year, model, or mileage specific and it helps to have that information right from the start. Send a PM (Private Message) to any staff member if you are not sure how to modify your signature.
- Very few members have time to read every thread, so smart titles and descriptive posts will work best. In your opening post be sure to include detailed problem symptoms, when it occurs, how long it's been happening, what you've tried, what hasn't worked, etc.
