I haven't seen any Aurora's that have anything different about them in Ottawa (all those government workers I expect) but every morning I see one the same colour as mine going the opposite direction, and we 'acknowledge' each other, you know, just a nod of the head or a slightly raised hand. I'd love to get new wheels - I'm not sure 17" is enough of a size difference so I'm considering 18's. I've seen 20's - only in pictures - and I'm not sure about the comfort - I like my comfortable ride. Of course, I'll have to get the money first - which may take a while .

I haven’t seen anyone with crazy mods or anything around my area (Cape Cod, Ma) although on my 95 I have it completely stock except no lie I’ve got a 4% tint… that’s how I bought it! The police were going to use it in a narcotics division somewhere in RI and they decided it was too nice of a car – ha! Who won that one! The entire car including the windshield was tinted (that was the only window tinted to 22% the rest were 4%). It was a real challenge driving at night and not being harassed by the police… and in order to get an inspection sticker I needed to remove the tint from the front 3 windows. I do still have it on the back 3 windows so it looks like I am rockin’ the only Olds Aurora Livery car LoL…. You can literally not see through the glass from outside the car I love it! I will miss it when I get rid of it.
On the next Aurora I’ll get it all around tinted sorta legal… and I’ve been checking out 18” rims. My big stipulation is I want whatever things I add to look like they could have been stock and not scream Pimp…

For a cheaper lowered look you can always disable the ELC ride control ;D

Rora,
What is this ELC ride control you speak of? Please explain for this dummy.

One the back axle of the car, there is a level sensor and control arm that monitors your ride height. Its connected to an air compressor and linked to airbags on your rear shocks. In the event of heavy loading, the sensor activates the compressor and fills the shocks raising the car up so that level is maintained.
It was broken on my car for months and I just recently installed a used sensor off a 95. I dont have issues with excess loading, its just me in the car, however, the ride if firmer now, since the shocks have some air compressed into them ( like they always should)

You'd know I'm sure if they weren't because the rear end of the car would be sitting unusually low... atleast in most cases. Also a lot of times when you start up the car you can actually hear it kick in and adjust the back end... it's just a slight whirring noise... I'm so technical Pfh I'm not sure how difficult they are to replace and what not in the Aurora but my Mark VIII is completely controlled by an air ride suspension (vs. just the read end of the rora) and it wasn't an easy task when one side deflates and not the other side...

My car rode a bit low, but I dont hear it when it starts up, only when I load it. I guarantee all Auroras have ELC tho

Here in San Antonio, there are a few Auroras of various colors. I seen 2 that have 20" wheels others have 18's and tinted windows. I havent seen any with the ground effects kit. I would like to be the 1st to get a kit for mine--here in San Antonio. I haven't taken any pics of my Aurora yet (shame on me for being a bad Aurora owner)...but I dont have any mods yet....I've only had it for 3 months now. I wanna take care of the few mechanical quirks that it has 1st, then start modding. My 1st few cheap mods would be to add the cross drilled rotors, and cold air filter (except I'll have custom ducting-routed to get "real" cool air). I'll also add some tint. My choice of wheels are either a choice of staggered sizes (19" with 3" lip in the front/ 20" with 4" lip in the rear)--OR--20" all around. The wheel brand will remain anonymous for now, but I will post a picture of them. If successful it'll post....if not.....oh well, I tried.

Here's a few shots of some. This black one is so awesome looking with chrome 2001+ 17's, and the Corsa exhaust: As is this light colored one with 17's. This car looks sweet! I hope Greg and Brian don't mind me posting picts of their cars... Here's one that the guy with the black classic sent me a pict of. It's neat looking: Also, there is this red 2002 that sounds sooo wicked, and looks sooo mint... Oh, right, that's my car! :-P
