todays springfield meet at randys

had a hell of a time. we had 7 auroras ok 9 counting 2 parts cars ;D one guy didnt stay for pics and he said he would be back in 15 min but never did. not missing much it was silver teal with aluminum wheels, no tint, missing center caps and barbed wire decals all over it. he also had the 3 oval fender vents but had them crooked or up and down vs long ways and looked funny IMO. michael vice a member on here showed up, xjsman89 came too. we could have had 2 more auroras but jaysin and craig were no shows. however we all got front row seats to an all out high speed pursuit! we all heard the sirens first and i notice engines revving but there were dirt track races going on just a few miles away at airport speedway. mentioned is that a chase? i said grab the camera! randy saved the day! he got it on video. some unidentifiable (subura wrx?) rice flew by doing every bit of 130mph + unbelievable on this road. he was losing a new dodge charger hemi cop which is crazy fast. several minutes later we saw more cops join in as he headed straight into town

So I have an idea for the Illinois meet next year... how about the Mid-midwest crew comes up and we all have an Aurora Campout??? Randy was nice enough to let me set my tent up overnight. other than the wolves waking me up at 6am, it was pretty fun! ;D


All in all, it was an awesome meet. I think its safe to say it has been a while since that many classics have been in the same place! (Dont forget to add both of Randy's parts cars to the tally!)

It would be some nice to go to a meet! I seen one other 97 or 98 here in Vernon but disappeared around the corner before I could get to him or her. I haven’t seen them since. BUT! Still looking in town.

I think you must be talking about Randy's red one. I'm the only (active) member on ACNA with a DRM Aurora. I've only seen one other DRM classic in my entire life, and it wasn't at the meet!

Not to be rude your not the only one, the other one is me. My 95 Aurora that has been with me for 14 years as of today October 12,1994 when I got her brand new. She is dark red metalic.

Xjsman is a good guy, we all had a real fun time. Lion Vista (another member) was here also. Another nice guy! He drives the silver Aurora on the end. He was really happy to be here, too. The police chase video is on my You Tube channel. Cover your ears if you are offended easily. I heard a bad word in it. I didn't want to edit the audio so you could hear the cars. There is also a video of Lance getting a 2nd gear scratch.

Lance, I'm not familiar with your car enough to know what you might have changed, sorry. But I love the oil and power steering caps under the hood!

Would be great to have a huge Aurora meet like this around our part of the world!

Randy Great Pics, and lance, yeah it almost looked like a body kit. I like how you painted the bumpers and stuff, But I think you could have done with out the mudflaps, just my opinion
