I am waiting on an estimate from the body shop. But if things don't go well this might be the end of the old girl.

Glad you wife is OK !!
Bummer. I’m thankful I can park mine for the winter. If you found some used parts reasonable are you able to do the work yourself ?

It is fully insured. I don't have to worry about anything. I fear it might be totaled though. If that is the case I have seen a SSEi that caught my interest.
As an added bonus to my misery the last payment on the car is due Monday and the starter in my pickup gave up the ghost last night. So I have been driving the wife's Blazer with a stuck open thermostat. It was been a pretty suck ass week all things considered.

That sucks, man! I hate to see things like that. Hopefully you can get her fixed! It's good that everyone is alright, though.

well when my mom recently busted the crap out of my aurora on rail road tracks we had the aurora fully insured, after all said and done the insurance company invested close to 6000 in the car. Insurance rates went way up so we got a new insurance company. But I imagine that if 6k worth the damage will be covered on my 98 than you should be in the clear. But mine also had around 90k on the clock when it happend, not 190k. I am sorry to hear about the car, glad to hear the wifeys okay. good luck to ya.
Did the air bags deploy?

^looks like he removed the bumper cover himself to make the car remotely drivable. Sorry to hear about this but at least your wifes not hurt and you are insured fully.

a 97 with 200K on the clock - one will be lucky if the insurance company will go even $2000 to fix it. Randy and Greyhound package delivery might be your only way to stay in the car.

The bumper was in the road when I got there. She hit the guard rail at an angle and tore it off.
The radiator did take a hit and it is leaking oil and coolant.

Ouch. At least it sounds as though your wife is okay. That's the most important part. Hope the car isn't totaled.

I got the estimate from the body shop the other day. $2800.00 with an open ticket for the radiator leak since they can't seem to find it right now. State Farm says if the total comes to 70% of the value of the car they will total it. So I have to wait until Monday to get the word from them.
I have been looking for a replacement. A 2004 Bonneville GXP has caught my eye.

It is official. My Aurora has been totaled.
Total price: $3342.14 (minus my deductible)
So I am fully on the hunt for a new ride.

Do you get to buy your Aurora back if you want? Looks like you could fix it. I have heard the hoods are so expensive that they will total an Aurora for that reason.

most definetely man. buy it back from the insurance co. for pennies on the dollar. then fix it up. i'd take a busted Aurora over a bonne any day.

The insurance company would want $500.00 to buy back the car. I am going to pass on that given the busted radiator and the other little issues that where starting to spring up.

You fail to see the awesomeness that is the Bonneville GXP - its heads and tails better then a busted up Aurora, now, a 7000mile black Classic beauty I wanted a while back...then we're talking
Mike...hit me up on MSN, I might make use of that Carfax if possible.

My unlimited carfax account expires on 1/29/09.
No problems Jim. Just get me a VIN and I will hook you up.
I will send your report via PDF for maximum cross platform compatibility.
