Hello all!! I was in a fender bender a couple days ago and hurt my car pretty bad. I know if I make an insurance claim they well write her off and I'll never get what I've put in it in the last year. I do however have a parts car that I can use to replace damaged parts. I'm just wondering if anyone has removed the passenger side fender, the front bumper and the hood before. It's in between -25 and -30 outside here so I'd like to be able to have an idea of location of bolts and such so I don't freeze to death when I'm pulling off the donor parts. Thanks for any help!!!

I have removed but not installed. But I couldn't explain all of it. I would say go for it. The fender wasn't hard to pull. And bumper covers and hoods are pretty simple. Take the bad parts off of your crashed one first. If you break anything, it will be a good way to make sure you don't break it off of the parts car.

Well the corner of the guys rear bumper went right into my headlight. So it smashed the plastic under the headlight, buckled my hood and bent in my side fender. I think any other spot I would of got a scratch in the paint and thats it, but of course I had to hit the weak spot. If it ever happens again I'm turning into the impact not away!!!

^^X2. Keep us posted on the repairs. Are you going to attempt to tackle it yourself, or are you just going to take it to a shop?

Well i'm taking the parts to a paint man cause my donor car is a different color. But other than that I'll be doing it all myself. I'll take some before and after pics. I'm pretty busy tho so it could take a few weeks.

Well this thread got a little off track lol. But the side fender and hood are pretty basic I think, so I just need some info on the bumper. Has anyone removed the bumper on a 95-99? I would really appreciate if someone could give me a quick how to so I don't freeze my ass off trying to get this thing off my donor car. Like what size of wrench, location of bolts and pins? Any help would be appreciated!! It's -35 right now with the windchill so the more knowledge I can get the better!! Thanks !!!

yea if the hood got messed up it's a total as far as the insurance company is concerned. sad to hear about it. i don't know where the bolts are or anything...sorry.

Sorry to hear about this . I assume all are ok though. yea if the hood got messed up it's a total as far as the insurance company is concerned. and here I was hoping to have a tiny fender bender (one that would not be my fault of course ) so I could have my hood repainted

I'm not going through insurance cause they will write it off, and I have too much invested to just let them drag it to the junkyard. Like I said I have a parts car in my back yard so all it needs is paint. Just wouldn't mind knowing location and size of bolts so I'm not freezing to death pulling the bumper off!!

You know you have to do it, so just go out there and take it off! Once you are out there a while it won't be so cold. Just take the usual 10mm, 13mm, 15mm, vice grips and screwdrivers. If you really need to know, buy a set of service manuals, they don't leave out anything. Or if you don't like the cold that much wait for spring.
