Those of you with 95-96 Auroras, there is a sender kit, but it's an old part number. Found one from a GM dealer who liquidated old inventory. GM Part # 25028963. There are a few out there if you look real hard.

I had the problem too for the last 3 years. I had inquired back then how much to fix and they were quoting me near $900. So I never fixed it and instead used the trip meter as a way to let me know when to refuel. When it got near 400km, I would fill. New to this board and saw this post. Intrigued me so I ordered the part online from the US for $24. At the part center they wanted $77. Canada really rips you off for car parts. Got the part yesterday and decided to try it today. Its snowing, but not really that cold just above freezing. I backed up the car to my front door where there is an over hang so I can open the trunk and not get any snow inside. Got everything out of the trunk and flip over the carpet in that spot. The two hardest things were trying to unclip fuel lines since the video wasn't very clear on this having his arm in the way. Realized had to push the two tabs down with pliers. Did the job well. The second was trying to remove rusty ring. Took a lot of pounding, but the lube helped. The rest was easy, even putting back ring was fine. An easy way to remove the pin from the sensor is to lie across the handle of pliers. It up off the table and enough room to pound with philips and hammer.
So got everything back in and started the car. The only problem is because my tank is full of gas, I can't tell if its working or not since the gas gauge was at full to begin with. So I suggest to do this job with a less then full tank. Thanks for the info....

So, This is happening on my '01, irratic fuel gauge.... I will try the techron 1st, as the car had sat for years prior to me buying. But if that doesn't help (which I don't think it will) how long can I pospone this safely?
