Hey guys, I searched the threads but could not find anything on this subject. From what I can read the Shelby Series 1 had a pretty much stock Aurora v8 and they put a tweaked intake system on it to get it up to 305hp. Anyone know the exact specs?

That engine was rated at 320 HP @ 6500 RPM, and 450 HP @ 6500 RPM with a supercharger. Camshafts were from the 300 HP Northstar V-8. It also had headers & full dual exhausts in addition to the better intake manifold.

Brav, I was the first to do the Shelby swap and went as far as to actually find a modded PCM. A good swap, don't get me wrong, just lacking in the war dept. without spending 10k tracking down Shelby intake and exhaust components. (it's not about what the part costs, but how much you had to pay to find it). The way I figure it (in TX anyhow), a salvage title 1st gen. 4.6 swapped and G body modded Aurora will run you just under 4k. It will do it all on the original PCM to boot!!! I'm keeping these dinosaurs alive if it means I'm the last one trying.

The Northstar powered Shelby NEVER came with a Super Charger from the factory!!!!! I have done a lot of research of this car. I can tell you that Vortech Super Chargers were installed on them, but not at the factory. I am aware of a Dyno Tuned Shelby making just about 320hp. I think it was a Super Charged also. This owner was irate with the company. I think he was a dealer and a investor. The car was supposed to be 320hp without the S/C. I currently work next door to Mike Juneau. He was one of the Dealers that lost a few bucks in the venture. Please read Snake Bit books.google.com/books?id=jLEiLOxehRoC&printsec=frontcover&dq=snake+

I am pretty sure Shelby American eventually installed superchargers on the cars. This was not part of their initial plan for the product as far as I know. So I don't know what you mean by "factory".

Shelby installed the superchargers on the Shelby Series I, not GM.

Quote: Gm told Shelby that they would pull the plug if he installed a supercharger on this engine. I have seen a picture of a Shelby Test Mule Engine with a Supercharger. I have seen pictures of the Dealer Installed Vortex Supercharger and the kit. Then you have the software issue. Look back to 1998 and 1999 to see who was selling software. I found the company and contacted them. I have been told by that company that claimed to have done the tune for the supercharger that only a few superchargers ever got installed. OK Shelby had 1 or 2 test cars. The supercharger was a 10k dealer installed option. How many car actually left the plant? I think it was less than 150, but I can't remember and I don't have my books. Lets just say less than 10 cars total. How do you know if they were reliable?

So if it was true the Shelby was 320 with S/C how does it run with a Ferrari F50, they have the same times. The Ferrari is 513 hp @ 2700 lbs. That's 5.26 lbs per hp. The Shelby weighs 2650. @ 450 hp it has 5.89 lbs per hp so it should be slower. I read it does 12.1 in 1/4 another did 12.4 the Ferrari does 12.1.

Probably, I'm usually on my phone. It tries to correct my spelling all the time. But where did the file come from? And who's car was it?

This is the Installed Matrix -- It is in the program This is the engine Key -- The 4.3L and the 4.0L use the same code. The software I use does not list it as a 4.3L it just has the code # This is the Body code key for that chart This is a 2000 Truck. You can see the optiond are turned on in column 5.

The guy i bought my supposed shelby motor from in Las Vegas swears up and down it was one of the motors that was supposed to go into the supercharged cars and thus has different cam specs. Either way, it's a brand new engine so I don't really care as long as it runs good. I'm going to have nycperformancetuning.com/ do the ECM tune for my car. It looks the same as westers website so maybe they just send it out there. My buddy had his new CTS-V dyno tuned there and they did a good job.

Yes he is 1 of Lyndon's dealers, but I don't think Lyndon will let him tune it. He will need to send Lyndon the PCM. In my case I can do the tuning, but I would need the car or PCM

Think his name was Rob. He had to drain the oil to send it, I thought it was a little strange it had a oil filter on it. Looked like it was barely broke in. I was expecting something that had never ran before I guess.

Cal, I edited your previous post on this thread. Sharing your phone number with members is fine, but try to limit it to PM's. We can't be held responsible for any phone calls made to that number. And since this is visible to everyone, I went ahead and removed your number from the post. Never know, I might get bored one night and have my friends call you and breathe really heavy into the line.
