Anyone who has been following my new car saga knows that we now have a 2007 Chrysler Pacifica for the growing family. I have loved owning/driving our Aurora and considered keeping it just for fun, but it would spend too much time sitting outside not being used. I'd rather have someone else continue on with the years of life that the car undoubtedly has remaining. Here's the important stuff: 1999, Autobahn package, Evergreen Metallic exterior, Neutral (tan) leather interior, 116k miles currently, chrome "torque star" rims originally from '98 Bonneville SLE. Body/paint in good shape but not perfect, some small scuffs and bumps here and there. It is a 10 year old car. I purchased in summer 2004 with about 53k miles on is then, so my ownership has spanned over 5 years and it's always been garaged. Asking price $3800, located in central Illinois between Chicago and St. Louis. All options except the Bose audio system. Everything works except passenger side heated seat, which I'm guessing is just a split wire probably in the door seam. I've just never really checked into it. Power sunroof motor is fine, but the assembly does need gear replacement. There is a thread on doing this job yourself, or it can be easily & quickly done by a dealer. I would also recommend new tires before this winter. Mods and repairs: - Kenwood 3-way 6x9 speakers in the rear deck - Replaced OEM audio head unit - RaceConcept drilled/slotted brake rotors all around - Hawk HPS ferro-carbon brake pads - ACDelco plugs & wires at 80k miles (lifetime warranty) - ACDelco replacement A/C compressor (new, not rebuilt) and other related A/C parts - ACDelco battery with 7 or 8 year prorated warranty - New power antenna - New upper intake manifold gaskets and front cylinder gaskets - Full synthetic oil changes for probably the last 60k miles - Gutted airbox with K&N air filter - Electrical grounding mod - Strut tower suspension brace added - HiLite Superwhite front lighting (highs/lows/fogs) This car has received almost everything this board has to offer an Aurora, in terms of useful modifications and owner repairs. Photos from the summer 2008 Aurora meet: Far left: Also see this thread - aurorah.proboards47.com/index.cgi?board=Ride&action=display&thread=9689I'm asking $3800, well below where most of these cars are priced retail. Reasonable offers will be considered. Any questions just let me know!

I could buy that, and I would If i could give it the attention it deserves. Just look at what I have put my aurora through! And now I will be going to college (e.g. super broke and no time to work on stuff). Dang, if only you held onto her for a few more years! Good luck I really hope an ACNA member picks it up!

Hey, is that pinstriping factory or aftermarket? I have never seen it before but it looks spiffy!

I always have like the pinstriping too - if it's not factory, it was obviously professionally applied. Maybe it was a dealer option, although I'm really only the 2nd "real" owner of the car. It was leased for few years initially, then traded hands between a few dealers prior to my purchasing in 2004.

The Aurora has been parked comfortably in the garage undriven for the last several weeks, but due to available space and financial obligations I'm afraid I've got to get serious about the sale here. I plan to get some ads out on Craigslist and a couple regional classifieds sites this week. Anyone seriously interested within driving distance of central IL, let me know and I can send current photos as soon as I get 'er cleaned up (mavis has been waiting patiently for weeks).

That is one sweet machine. Love that color and those rims. I hate having to sell mine, but life goes on.
Didn't you think someone would have at least picked up the Aurora line after Oldsmobile shuttered? Damn!

Man Scotty, I would sure like it and I'm in central IL but I just bought this 1997 Dia White Autobahn. Wish I had a three car garage I would.

Got the Aurora listed in a regional classifieds paper here, both online and print versions. Go to www.tradinpost.com and search "aurora" ... my ad is currently the only one without a photo, but does have a "tinyurl.com" link listed. Check out where that link leads to!

Nice! Good job on the redirect. I hope the sale goes smoothly. Ignore tirekickers and lowballers my friend.

*SOLD*
My Aurora just left the driveway, being driven by its new owner. Ended up going to a family that lives right down the street from me, and this is the 4th current Aurora owned by someone in their extended family. Two live down the street, and two more are owned by the new owner's sister. They know their Auroras - Randy I think you may have some competition! A local sale to a true fan of Auroras - I couldn't be happier about THAT, although of course it was sad to see the car go. It was a true joy to own & drive for 5+ years.
And yes of course I referred them to ACNA! ;D

I bet you had tears in your eyes when she left, at least she's going to another aurora loving family. I don't think I can just sell my Aurora too many great memories and very reliable what I love about her. I know you have an urge to buy another

I know you have an urge to buy another You are absolutely right. If/when the time comes in the next few years when I need another daily driver to get me around, you better BET that another Classic will top the list. I put a lot of time and many forum-inspired upgrades into this car, so it did hurt a little to see it go. But the new owners will take care of it no doubt given their Aurora history, and that's a good feeling.

I don't think the situation could have turned out better for you, Scotty. It's too bad that your Aurora had to go but at least it went to a family that will take care of it (and hopefully surface on ACNA).
Look at it this way; because the people who bought it are right down the street you'll even get to see it from time to time! ;D

^^ Already happened... the new owners live right on a corner intersection, where we often turn to drive to our house. Saw the dark green over chrome, sitting there right next to its light blue Classic sister.

Nice! And you say their family has 4 Classics? That's great it went to a good family, that is a relief. I just talked to a 2g owner yesterday, that I know, he said he knows another guy here locally that also owns 4 Classics.

Oh, and I'll take it as-is too... no reason to remove any of the aftermarket add ons that you've done. I like 'em all. ;D I don't even mind that it's purple dark red metallic!
