Joy oh joy, i officially and truly love my car. and after my little "experience", i will never think badly of it again! Here's the deal: my parents bought another house about 35 miles from here and i have been remodeling it for them. it's a cute early 1800's two story home in a nice neighbor hood and i get to live rent free for the work i do. (sweet deal if you ask me) i was heading over there the other night, around 3 A.M. going down the highway with my cruise set to 70. I went to go around a truck so i turned my signal on and checked my mirrors, then glanced back and thought it was safe. of course i didn't notice the other car with his headlights off and no outside lights i could see! so i cut him off, didn't hit him or anything. just got within a foot or two of their bumper. of course, that pissed them off. so they rode my tail until we were passed the truck and got next to me. they were riding next to me for a good 5 seconds until i got worried and started to excelerate, they did the same. then all of the sudden they came into my lane! i was going 75 mph at this point. so by the time i hit my breaks it was too late. they hit my car in the front bumper right where the sidemarker is and proceeded to shove me off the shoulder! so i'm riding in the grass now, bouncing quite allot and they're still there not letting me back onto the highway. so i hit the breaks and they do the same. and when they tried to come back for another swing i said **** this, and just flat out gunned it! I have never gotten close to red lining before, and my needle was just flying up there. surprisingly it shifted really smooth and i was going 125 before i knew it. i took the the next exit, naturally it was curvy, going 90mph and my tires were squealing constantly, and i almost lost control but i kept going. i turned at the stop sign going about 60 and slid across the lane but regained control rather quickly. turn another sharp turn going 50-60 in a 25 zone and then hid in a park for awhile while the other car went on. after digging out the phone ( which flew under the passenger seat in this ordeal) i called for help. of course, the guy was too far gone to be caught. but at least i was able to lose him. what i can't believe is the amount of damage i received! i'm going to have to put some pictures up here cause it's remarkable. getting pushed of the highway should've done more than this right? all of my lights work, there is nothing damaged behind the bumper, even the tires are fine. img199.imageshack.us/img199/1760/dsc05722z.jpgimg19.imageshack.us/img19/8011/dsc05723x.jpgimg30.imageshack.us/img30/1300/dsc05724b.jpgimg291.imageshack.us/img291/6954/dsc05725.jpgimg36.imageshack.us/img36/1662/dsc05726v.jpgimg21.imageshack.us/img21/6505/dsc05727bxz.jpgimg259.imageshack.us/img259/1103/dsc05728.jpg

You should have run that ingrate off the road for hitting you and DWS (Driving While Stupid, a reference to them having no lights on). All you would have had to do is turn your wheel into them and your aurora would have bullied that car right off the other side of the road. They would have wrecked and it would have been deemed thier fault.
Also, you need to redline more often. That helps these motors stay clean and run young, just keep it with fresh oil and properly tuned up and redlining wont cause any issues. Our transmissions shift VERY smooth under load and im still impressed to this day!

BTW, that second gen looks REALLY sharp. In that last pic, I didnt even notice any damage. It looks really pretty.
Those scratches should buff out with some work and polish. You may have done more damage if you had gone with my plan (running them off the road) but I think it would have been worth it. You may even have been able to file a claim or sue them.

you mean the unibody frame crusher?
They had to use a frame crusher designed for trucks (body on frame build), it exceeded federal standards by 2X! Probably (one of the) the strongest unibody built.

Mine sees redline every day. Runs like a champ too. It is suggested, especially with our motors (including the 3.5) that the engine see a WOT run atleast once a week, it keeps carbon from building up in the cylinders. You will get a nasty odor the first few times, but its just the carbon burning out. ;D its completely safe

the age makes it all the more important. Thats why you got old folks meticulously taking care of their car, using synthetic oil and 3k oil changes, yet still have tons of sludge in thier engine. They need to see thier range once in a while or more often. As aura1 suggested, its even more important in our engines compared to most. What you dont want to do i srev in neutral. Dont worry about actually going over the redline, the transmission prevents that from happening no matter what gear you have your shifter in.

Zach, 94-95 had the option between the 4.9 and 4.6N*, based on trim level. the 4.6 became standard in 96 either way.

It didnt break the true frame crusher though- thats probably not very possible lol. Just to clear up the confusion ;D

Thier front bumber would be smashed. Then I would say they rear ended me.

this is a crazy story and reminds me of an incident about 12 years ago. i had just merged onto the highway. a red s-10 or ford ranger i don't recalkl which , came speeding up beside me. the guy had his window down, shaking his fist and yelling obscenities at me. i know i didn't come close to cutting him off so i don't know what his problem was but he got in front of me and slammed on the brakes. i nearly rear ended him but somehow avoided it. next he pulls over on the shoulder and comes running out of the vehicle at me. i put it in reverse and proceeded to toy with the guy a bit. he couldn't catch me in reverse lol. well all things aside, i knew this guy wanted to hurt me for whatever reason. so i dropped it in first and spun out through 2nd gear just trying to flee this guy. he punched the back of my car as i sped by. i got up to around 120 and held it there for several miles hoping to lose the crazy dude and i did. never knew what his problem was nor why he targeted me but i didn't stick around to find out either. that was in my red 87 mustang
