I crashed my 03 aurora last nite... I am praying the ins company doesnt total it.. only has 51,000, doesnt look like much damage, I know the radiator is gone.. front end smashed... I loved my car... not sure how I will part with it. Well happy to say the ins company did not total it.. $5000 worth of damage but not totalled... here is a pic img196.imageshack.us/img196/2494/caraccidentj.jpg

Sorry to hear that. I'll keep good thoughts that your insurance company does the right thing by you. The low mileage should count for something with them. While I hope it doesn't come to this you always have the option to buy the car back from the insurance company and get it fixed if they do declare it a total. Please do post a photo of the damage so we have a better idea of what happened.

Totalled, no! It looks like it's still driveable. I think that at least the hood & the panel around the headlights are gone. I don't know about the fenders.

Sorry for your luck. Depending on how you choose to proceed, the parts are fairly available for about 1/2 of what your body shop will charge. My $3000 job grew to $6000 and eventually cost just over $7500. If the insurance company decides to fix it, you'll still get it fixed if it grows more, but be careful.
Mine took on a bridge 30,000 miles ago and drives as good today as it did before the accident.

i guess the 2 gen hoods won't total the car like they will on a classic. not aluminum? no egg carton shaped noise dampening underneath? never seen the 5 min hood mod on one so i don't know. if that hood was a classic it would be totaled.

EXACTLY that cost at a shop $7500 The hood can't be repainted without repainting the fenders. at least that's what the dealers paint shop told me. All the other parts are hard to get and have to be ordered from around the country. It took them almost 3 months to put that car back together. Good luck!

yes i will say this. no matter how small & easy any job appears with the aurora it never fails to turn out taking 3 times as long and costing twice as much as you first expected. that's the Cadillac in it coming through.

Thats not too bad, looks like a lot of R&R (hood definitely looks beyond repair) and repaint, but doesn't look like much if any damage to the frame, etc. Radiators aren't too expensive either and it would be nice to have a new one. Glad you are alright and your ins company is gonna have it fixed!
