hey guys i just got off the phone with Mrs. Shannon at the Aurora Chamber of Commerce & we won a trophy as a group and i won a trophy all my myself! i can hardly believe it but she said i scored 74.5 which was enough for a trophy in the 1960 - 99 modified class i'm going out there friday to pick our trophies up. she said we left before they gave them out. she also said we made it into the newspaper but was an article only, they said they ran out of room for our pic but thats ok. Collins deserved it more than me. his car is like mint plus its purple! ;D

Awesome! Of course I think that I deserve an award too but I was in the 1960-99 Stock class, not the Modified class. Nice work though, Lance! You know if you ran that intake around the engine bay a couple more times I think that they would've had to give you two awards. That's excellent that we won one as a club also! I vote that it stays on Randy's Aurora shelf with all of his other stuff. Let's keep it going for next year!

;D I had a feeling we won something because of our class being pretty small. I thought it would have been Collins that won. We should have stayed a little longer for the trophy ceremony. Well there is always next year!

;D I had a feeling we won something because of our class being pretty small. really? i figured it was most likely the largest class 1960 - 1999 modified. now the 1950 - 59 all years would have been a smaller class or even pre 1950 all makes but i'm off to pick them up in an hour or two. some other small classes included trucks - all makes, camaros & firebirds, muscle cars, corvettes pre 1990, motorcycles all years, etc. i'm looking things over here. the judges only deducted points so we didn't gain any points per say in judging, only kept from losing points at best. the spectators cast votes and that's how it was tallied up. so in other words, we done good! pics coming this afternoon

ok good news and bad news. i misunderstood her when we talked on the phone and we as a group/ club did not win anything. go figure there was only 3 of us! however the good news is that all 3 of us got awards, not just myself. now i don't feel so bad for beating Collins since his car is so immaculant. so this is a special time for ACNA as the first time we have ever represented these fine cars not only as individuals but as a club and i know it was all our our first times ever in a real car show and we all 3 earned a TOP 10 FINISH! Randy & Collins got a top 10 in the 1960 - 1999 stock class & i got a top 10 in the 1960 - 1999 modified class. wow i hope this is some motivation for you guys for next year. we can beat the mustang club i'm sure of it now. we were just out numbered this time. i just dropped Randy's plaque off to him. we are both very stunned that we placed at all considering there were show cars there with 60,000 or 80,000 and more easily sunk into them. remember that these were voted on by the crowd, not the judges. the judges only deducted possible points but the scores came from audience/ show goers votes. that means that the public still loves these cars even if they don't know what they are!! several spectators of course thought it was funky, odd whatever that our cars said Aurora. all 3 awards are identical except mines bigger & says modified & you guys says stock. woot woot no they're the same size. Randy said we fooled 'em. lol he's right cause i know my car is the touch up mobile. his car & mine have spray painted bumpers while some cars had more in just the paint job than all 3 of our cars combined resale values. it wasn't a small car show there had to of been 100 cars easily, i'll find out how many there were tomorrow. it wasn't as big as the big show that rolls through here every summer but well represented all around. as a veteran car show goer this is so astonishing & we even did it at the 25th annual Aurora auto fest classic car show. obviously Aurora history was made by name alone next year we better have a big turnout. aren't they purdy. sooo shiney hey Collins. i'll be sure and take good care of yours for ya till next year.... ROFL.... j/k shoot me your addy again. OBTW the school mascot is a hound dog lol that's why there's a ***** on the trophy...

Even better. I can't believe that I got a top ten finish, there were a lot of nice cars there. I'm definitely going next year and I'm bringing my trophy with me. ;D

Randy's place is in Springfield, Missouri. The car show was about 30-45 minutes from Randy's place in Aurora, Missouri but we stay at Randy's (or close by) so its not a big deal.
