What I am seeing with my car is that when I first fill up the take with gas I get good gas mileage (19-21mpg in the city) and when I run down to 3/4 or even 1/2 a tank or less my mileage decreases. My question is when the dealership replaces my fuel rail with the stainless steel will gas mileage go up because fuel pressure is also going to go up? I believe that when I first fill up I get good gas mileage because the tank is fuel and therefore fuel pressure is at its peak. When the tank starts being relieved of its money hungry friend I start to get decreased mileage because (I think) the fuel pressure in the take is not as great. Because nylon expands when the temp gets hot (this I assume because they are recalling the car for cracking fuel lines and cracking is caused by some kind of expansion) would poor gas mileage be elleviated by the stainless steel fuel lines?
To make a long story short, I guess I am asking if my gas mileage has any chance in improving with the repairs the recall provides?

could it be possible that it is leaking but not enough for me to know. I know that I would smell fuel if the rails split, but is it possible the the rails might have ruptured or degraded to the point that they themselves are gone but the rubber that surronds them is still whole?
Or am I just being stupid and making up a scenario to make myself look/sound smart?

i don't know about the whole "smart" thing  just kidding!@# you would have definitly smelled fuel. and don't feel bad about gas mileage, i get a hefty 10-15 mpg, although i just added some lucas, and its slowly climbing. touchdown |

what do you add lucas to? to the oil or gas? I have done the techron thing and the berrymans thing. I have never tried Lucas before. Is it worth its weight in gold?
