So, I have been having this debate with myself, I want to add 2-42" underbody white neon tubes to my car.
I think with the chrome rims, tint and the uncoming KYB lowering kit the lights would add a neato look to it.
She'll be the perfect combination of show and HELLA GO!
Anyone else done that or thought about it?

Be careful...once you start it's hard to stop. Soon you'll have a wing the size of the St. Louis arch and fart canons. Neon is a gateway drug!

haha! Well I wil try and stay away from the wing...i promise ;D BUT, no worries on the fart cannon, for I already sport a full Magnaflow cat back exhaust...an exhaust so smooth it makes the ladies melt... And I havent seen white on any car...so..meh..why not?!

I have actually had the same thought as you Jim with the white neon, although I also wanted to do some VERY subtle neon accents to the bottoms of the seats inside the car...you know like mood lighting... LoL

Mood lighting for all that road rage eh Amanda I like the way you think! but any interior light mods inside the car will be to change all the bulbs to red!

If you change the courtesy lights, you have to change every other light too or it'll look weird. It's a pain to get to the cluster lights. As well as all the backlight buttons on the doors. Not to mention the DIC and radio is all blue. If anything, make the interior lights blue so everything matches!

I would leave the cluster lights that green colour for now, but yes I agree, I would have to do all the lights.
In my 89 Bonneville, I used red tint film on the inside of each lens, it worked way better then swapping all the lights.
But thats not really a priority right now

Man are we ever on different pages... Neon lights?? To me that's just more load on the amp and extra weight on the car. Not to mention tacky as hell... And red interior lighting? Are you insane?? That is absolutely the worst color for interior lighting possible. Even the VW purple is less hideous than red! I absolutely hate Pontiac and BMW interiors due to the red backlighting of everything. I could stand it on a Ferrari, but only because the rest of the car makes up for it.

I am not going to even get into this. I just know I hate the inside of VWs and BMWs for the colors itself... I can see this turning ugly

Just as a counterpoint, red does preserve one's night vision.

Wow...tough crowd Relax! I wont go red interiors...shite... btw red interiors of Pontiacs and BMW's IMHO are very nice, now I find the white "sport" gages to be tacky, red is "fighter pilot" And we are talkin show car here ladies and gents, the perfect combination of show and go. RSM seems excited to work on my car, and there are so many car events in Toronto that is dominated by rice crap it would be nice to have something a little different. I draw the line at 800W sound systems, but so what, I want to add a couple light tubes...still undecided. Different strokes for different folks...imagine that

Different strokes for different folks...imagine that Hey, you're the one who solicited opinions on it... Are you going to show your car? White lights underneath might not look that interesting, but I dunno. Since the car is white, what about black lights? That might be kinda wicked looking... Red does tend to preserve night vision, unfortunately having your headlights on will totally kill it anyway. In that case, your eyes respond quicker to green, so maybe that's the color to pick. You aren't gonna go get the full-on wood dash kit next, are you? You should think about lowering the car or something, and maybe tinting the windows if you want a cool show look. Edit: ahh, you already have the tint.

35% tint, the interior is to pretty to hide.
The lowering kit will be something I look at thru RSM, they stock a nice KYB package but I want my Z-rated 255/50 series before that happens.
I looked into large white tubes today, StreetGlow wants a small fortune for them...may not be in the car budget this year.
Did I regain some sanity? ;D

I'm having trouble imagining a bronze car with a blue interior and red neon beneath. It'll look like a blast furnace.
