Driving to el paso tomorrow to visit mom. This will be the ultimate stress test for my baby... if she can make it across texas and back she can make it anywhere! Cheers and Happy New Year everyone!

Quick update: 650 miles with no issues. My biggest concern is the serpentine belt and idler pulley. Just to be safe I have a small generator in the trunk and battery charger so I can drive her to safety if there's a failure. So far so good though... knock on wood.

Well it was a good, uneventful trip. 1375 miles total, including 75-100 around town, used 54 gallons (of 88-89 octane - no knocks and Tech1 tells me the PCM does not see low octane gas) which averages out to 25.4 mpg. That's even with the speed limit of 80 between Odessa and El Paso, a good 300 mile stretch. The DIC average said 27.9 when I got home. She has the usual slight vibration, but it's from 70-80, smooth as silk up to 70mph. All in all a very comfortable trip and I look forward to many more in her. Oh, I also passed the 125000 mark on the odometer on my way home! (on my way to 200!)
