i gave my baby a good wash down today before i head home for spring break tomorrow. Here are a couple pics. the only problem with washing my car is that you can see all the problems with the paint. Luckily she is getting repainted over the summer. Also i know i need lug caps, i plan on getting those over summer.

Replaced the lemonade bottle cap in the hole where the intake resonator was with a plumbers "test plug", rubber seal, wingnut tight!

Well-I've had my Aurora since January-I have a 1998 with 63,000 miles on it. Was off from work today and finally got the car registered. Now I am in New York-on Long Island and I woke up to snow and rain. So registered the car-put my new plates on and took it for a ride. Gotta say-love my car. Gonna be my weekend cruiser and cruise night car. Can't wait for the nice weather!!!!!!!!

Attempts to change reading/glove box light to LEDs, however LEDs work horrible in reflectors... putting everything back....... crazy rain and tornado warning... I haven't got a chance to apply Rain-X

Applied Rain-X original/Antifog, it worked pretty good when I am driving at above 40MPH, no need for wipers But at 30MPH I still have to use wiper. Will more Rain-X help?

I just made her chirp the tires on the first to second gear change That was fun, first time she's ever done that! Btw, I despise Rain-X! Leaves an unsafe shadow on the window that makes other cars headlights glare if you use the wipers at speed. Not my thing.

Well it wasn't today, but last weekend I replaced my master cylinder with a rebuilt one (all they had in stock) from Pep Boys. It leaks worse than my old one, so this weekend I'll be doing it again, hopefully with a new one this time. At least it's a fairly easy job, just a little messy.

Changed the intake to throttle plate gasket, cleaned the MAF and throttle plate. Did a test drive, right before i got home i decided to do a WOT and passed the house, turned around and smelled something real bad. Pulled into the garage pooling smoked. End of story, NEVER buy an Autozone alternator! IT blew..

Finally found some time to take the car into the shop yesterday. I had the valve cover gaskets replaced - bugger of a job, the water pump pulley on the camshaft did not come off easily, hopefully no more oil leaks for now, the power steering pressure hose was replaced finally - found a leak on the rack so that's going to be next to be fixed along with the gas gauge problem, new serpentine belts and an oil change along with a tire rotation. Total bill: $350 for the labour and oil and $215 for the parts from Rockauto.com. Check Engine light turned out to be P0410- Secondary Air Injection Pump, we reset the computer and we'll see what happens. It seems to be working right now so........ Thankfully I have a good tech who is understanding to my wallet. The labour alone yesterday should have run me close to $500 by the book.

Um, I never use it at all. the one time I did use it I got the glare that I stated on every car that I used it on. It's like a shadow as the wiper passes over the Rain-X that makes oncoming head lights glare horribly.
I would never use it on the inside, it doesn't rain there lol.

Rain-X does fog a little right after applying but it doesn't last long...the more rain the better to "season" it, lol. I've been using a window cleaner with Rain-X in it, works great, just spray and wipe like windex.

Front brake pads, BAM! Bring a jack, c-clamp, 3/8" hex key or hex socket, and new pads of course. 15-20 min per side for someone that doesn't do it every day. Jack: to get the tire off the ground C-clamp: to push the piston in Hex key: for the two caliper bolts Pads: snap in to the caliper Doing the rears this weekend. You need to screw in the rear pistons with a special tool, but still a piece of cake. ;D

I did experience a month ago on Mrs Raurus Taurus one of the rears wouldn't screw in...all new calipers, rotors and pads When this thing decays in to a pile, there will be a nice pair of brakes remaining, lol
