Wow, be sure to check back and let us know if you notice any difference. Either way I think I'll try it next oil change because it sounds exactly like what I'm looking for. I get a little top end chatter on initial startup that dissipates quick but that'd be great if that could be solved.

Weather gets a little colder up your way too than here. So everything helps.
Anyways, did get it changed last night and re-wired my exhaust cutout to a manual switch. Having some issues with tablet after android system and app updates. Probably seeing a new double din in the near future because I don't really have time to mess around with it as much as in the past.

valve cover gasket,(the front) didn't want to bother with the back wasn't leaking just one corner. Plugs, wires, gas filter, pcv, oil and air filter, filled it up with premium/supreme(not cheap) and replaced the third brake light and left rear running marker. Think shes had enough for a day or two

I hadn't done much with or to my Aurora lately since I really can't drive it in hot weather without low oil pressure warnings going off left and right. I did find a coolant additive last spring that seems to help a little. I can now safely drive it with the outdoor temperatures in the low 80s, which is about the end of my comfort level with the car's non-functioning AC. With fall temperatures beginning to settle in, I'm driving the car a bit more lately and I'm beginning to turn my attention to a few minor things. The radio surround has never fit quite right since I swapped the non-functioning Oldsmobile radio out for a Buick unit shortly after I got the car. I had to widen the lower left corner of the surround to accommodate the "Source" button on the radio when I first installed it but that corner of the surround has never fit down snugly because of a locator pin on the back hit the Buick radio's mounting bracket. I ground that down yesterday with a Dremel tool and it now fits much better.
I drove the car to church this morning and noticed the return of a familiar issue I hadn't seen in a while. One of the fog lamps was burned out. This was a constant thing the first two years I had the car. I bought the car with one burned out and it seemed I was replacing a bulb every four to six months, usually alternating sides, until about three years ago when I bought a four-pack of generic bulbs on eBay. I used one of them and they seemed to stop burning out, partly because I wasn't driving the car very much. But as of this morning, I'm officially halfway through the four-pack.
I would love to get the low oil pressure problem fixed, followed by the leaky air conditioner and the touchy ignition switch. But the next thing on the agenda is a long overdue oil change.

I gave her a wash to get the salt off. They coat the roads with it here... gotta keep those chromies clean! She gets a wash every two days at a minimum, I wipe down the rims every day. Cheese and I thought I was OCD wiping mine down every day with a spray bottle and a rag from sunroof to tires

2nd Gen: Replaced window regulator passenger front, replaced passenger visor whose flip vanity mirror cover wouldn't stay open, found reflector for right rear that was missing, replaced driver mat that I wore a hole in, replaced wood trim/bezel combination around HVAC control and radio(Wood popping off old one), picked up extra garage door opener units (I have a lot of doors to open haha)(actually, home automation X-10 units are compatible so I control lights on the house from the car). Found an extra front under car air scoop/spoiler. All replacement parts were from new arrivals at our local Pull & Pay junkyard. Total less than $120.
p.s. everybody breaks the center console cover hinge. Never found a good one in a junkyard haha.

Oil change and tire rotation. Unfortunately during the rotation I found about 6" of water pooled in my trunk. Spent the rest of the night pulling out everything in the trunk, then the carpet and then adding silicone to the seal and anywhere else I figured the water to be coming in. Did the buckets test with my brothers girlfriend pouring the buckets of water over it while I laid inside haha, only saw a light trickle that didn't appear to be coming from the seal but rather cracked factory sealant behind the driver's tail light and a little at more cracked factory sealant towards the window. We'll see if it does the trick, for now my trunk is carpet-less. The 37 degree weather isn't helping with the drying process haha.
Oh, I also changed my mom's '06 Vibe starter in the parking lot of Advance Auto, so it was a busy day haha.

...dreamed a bit... 'pro-touring' style... My "dream" would be powered by a Tesla AWD drivetrain, using a pair of the 503HP/525lb.ft. motors at both ends.

Hello.
I'm getting ready to sell our 1998 white Aurora. Bought new in 1997, my wife retired two years later. It only has 35,300 miles and I put new Goodyear tires on it about 2 years ago just because of age of the originals. It has a factory Bose radio/cd player and a regular suspension. Non smokers and no kids...
The only thing wrong at this point is the Hot/Cold Air actuator in the dash that needs to be replaced. It's had a new GM A/C compressor replaced and a new $500 "multi switch" in the steering column; all replaced by the local GM dealership's shop.... Last year when we had it stickered and new yearly tags, the engine readouts passed without any trouble. The Texas State Inspection printout report showed we only drove it just over 650 miles the passed year.... It's pearlized white paint, light tan leather, and garaged 24/7.
Could some of you tell me what I should do as far as selling it because of it's a real "One of a Kind" in its history and condition? It's almost part of the family and my wife is having sad and mixed feelings about selling it.
Any comments or suggestions are appreciated,
Bill

Put a pic of it on here, specifically here. Pics help a lot as to selling a car.

p.s. everybody breaks the center console cover hinge. Never found a good one in a junkyard haha. My lid looks right but won't stay open. I wonder if it's been repaired in the past? Is there a way to tell short of having another Aurora to compare?

Parked my 97.(had just got all the leaks fixed, it was keeping a good temperature and not having to add any coolant, then I blew the heads gasket!) Bought a 98 with 71k, local car, I'm 3rd owner... Now gotta figure out what I have to do to make it an Autobahn. My 97 is an Autobahn, so will look into the site over for info as to parts and programming.

You'll need a 3.71 axle ratio, V rated tires & Autobahn programming for the PCM....specifically 135 mph speed limiting & maybe higher shift points.

Thx. I have all the parts. I just have to switch then out. What about trading PCMs? Provably not, huh? I've already trade tires from the 97, they have better tread.

Swap the transaxles, your '98 is now an Autobahn, almost. You do have to swap the PCMs!Wouldn't worry about the V rated tires, unless you plan on taking her up to the speed limiter. But if you have a set, why not?

If I can just swap axles, and I can swap the 98 & 97 PCMs without having to have them reprogrammed, then it's as good as done.... As soon as I find time... I'll try to post some pics of both cars, but uploading I'd not my strong point.
PS. Thank you Marc and Tigger for your info. It saves m the search time looking for info that is probably on the site

Voice recognition got me AGAIN...if it were just the CV axles, it would already be done! My FSM should arrive tomorrow. When the TIME will arrive is beyond me, but when it does, I hope I have some ENERGY left.. (for some reason I never seem to have both at the same time these days)
T-axles are probably easier to get out of the car than the starter! LOL

Been sitting in the driveway too long (2001 V8) so I fixed a few things:
Water in the trunk. Used the wet vac. Silicone around the tail light housing. Replaced tail light. Poured bleach on the trunk carpet mold. Fixed!
Rear passenger window regulator broken so I took the door panel off and jammed up the window with a piece of wood. Fixed!
Been jumping the battery for a few days. Won’t start next morning. Ordered new battery!
Added coolant. Cap wouldn’t come off. Used pipe wrench. Fixed!
Added quart of oil. Fixed!
Cleaned mysterious broken car glass out of trunk (new to me car). Fixed!
Service stability system light came on. Turned off car. Turned it back on. Fixed!
Waiting to see if old starter problem comes back. Starts every time with a jump. Not fixed!
Washed the green algae off. Fixed!

The Aurora gods are powerful and continue to prolong my suffering, even adding to others. I dropped my car off at a shop a few days before I went to Mississippi to excavate with the Forest Service. We had planned a time and date that I'd pick it up. I talked to the shop owner two days before and he told me that his lead mechanic had broke his back, but that everything should be done on time. It's a good thing I called again before I made the 200 mile round trip because it still wasn't finished. I gave him another week. This is all I have to show.
