Great job on the 4.6. Looks good. Will be interested in what kind of fuel economy change you see. Sure you'll be able to tell a performance difference..

The only difference is internal, everything else is the same.
It'd be nice to see a video, 0-60 maybe.

I have seen it in person, but even before I saw it, I knew it was real. It's usually pretty easy to tell who is full of it.

In the interest of full disclosure, the engine compartment was wicked clean when I got the car. Maybe that was a sign. Of what, of a horrible bastardized engine repar or swap. I try to keep it clean in there, but I can't take full credit. As far as mileage goes... I didn't really drive it with the 4.0 long enough to know the mileage normal. Just one 1400m roadtrip where I did about 24-25mpg at 75-80mph. So far its been a little tough to keep my foot out of it. Dora has been deadlined since Dec and my van got crushed in May. Gator

OK gents. A quick update. Dora is doing fine and running ridiculously well. Mileage is about 18.5-20.5 depending on how much is hwy/city. I haven't recognized the extra power, but it was about 8 months between driving the two engines. I'll just say now it feels more like Alvin the Terrible, my '04 Interceptor. Very torquey, responsive and generally fun to drive. Sorry I can't report smoking any Hemis or Cobras. I really haven't even pushed it hard because I have no confidence in its reliability. Sadly, the clanking noise that lead me to believe my engine was pending meltdown is still present. I'm fairly sure its got much to do with my tranny fluid. Right now it looks like coffee, 2 creams, 1 sugar, so I'll be replacing it a bit at a time. That's all for now folks. Gator

That noise was there before the motor swap? I bet its more torquey indeed tho! I wanna drive a 300hp Cadillac to see the difference.

I've ridden in an 03 DTS Vin 9, it's definitely noticeable... It's all on the top end. It has pretty much the same take off of an Aurora on the bottom end (mostly because of the 3.77 FDR, it's also a heavier car), but you notice it once it starts getting up in the RPMs.
Have you taken any videos or anything? I just made a pretty good advancement in my project; found lifters for $6 a pop! Much better than paying $9 or $10 a peice... I just have to finish the lower end and I can put my 4.6 together.

Nelson, that noise was the reason for the swap. Just decided to be proactive and fix it before it went TU on me. As we used to say in the Corps, good initiative, bad judgement. Its intermittent, so its not so annoying anymore. Soon there will be an inline filter installed and maybe that will help out a bit. Gator

It's not a question as to whether or not it's in there haha, I've seen it in person. It's awesome! Times would be sweet though haha. Maybe at next year's MO meet.
