The 2011 October/November Monthly Featured Aurora goes to Pureinsanity and his gorgeous Razzi Classic! A few (quite a few! ;D) words from Brian:
********************************************************
My name is Brian I’ve been an Aurora addict for 10 months, and I’m trying to get clean; it’s taken my time, my money, its kept me away from my family and friends, it’s been painful at times, fun at others, but most important…its been my coolest car experience ever. ;D
I bought my Aurora in December of 2010 after many failed years of trying to coax my grandfather into selling his to me. I think it was a blessing in disguise though because as much as I would have loved his, I fear I would have kept it more of a garage queen and less of a road car. aurorah.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=Ride&action=display&thread=19061
When I picked mine up she was in pretty rough shape; she had cold carbon rap, more than a half dozen engine codes, a moldy trunk, a musty interior, gold window tint, and more broken parts than a Canadian hockey player. When she was first fired up the oil light came on and the cylinders rapped for a little while which prompted the ‘mechanic’ to go out to a shed and grab whatever oil he could…and then dump a half quart in. The drive home wasn’t bad, 3 hours at night in the rain driving a car im completely unfamiliar with that has an ses sure added some tension, but the ride was smooth and I averaged 26.7 mpg. The rest was history.
Ive done more than I ever though I could with this car (or any car), and because of that this fine lady and I have a lot of understanding. I’ve done more mechanical repairs than I care to mention, as well as interior replacement and updating. I’ve spent countless days and nights tearing up my hands, spewing curse words, blood, sweat, and tears making things right. I’ve driven hundreds of miles scouring the city for replacement parts, junkyard parts, and the occasional oem rarity from a distant dealer. I’ve made friends and intrigued neighbors, impressed some and baffled others. In the end though I have what I consider to be a car that can’t be replaced; its big, its cushy, its sporty, it has a v8, and a look like none other.
This is the timeline of my last 10 months, enjoy.
