I am tuning a 4.0L and I need a 1999 Autobahn VIN. It needs to be a 1999 and the customer has a 3.71 trans with a Shelby 4.0L

Is everyone aware that not all of the Shelby’s have the Cadillac cams in them? The engines were shipped the Shelby with the OE cams. The 2 cams that were changed GM shipped them separately. Shelby installed the cams. If you have a 4.0L Shelby you can look at the engine and you should be able to tell if it has been apart. I would look at the water pump pulley for marks from the removing tool

One more thing. All of the 4.0L were sold for $250 at the auction

Good info! $250! That is so cheap! It would have been nice to be at the auction with some extra cash. Good luck on finding a vin, I am sure you will get a reply soon. Let us know how the programming goes, Aurora and Cadillac pcms are difficult to work with. Check out ajxtcman on youtube or some Cadillac forums. If you get something going on for a reasonable price we might be sending some business your way. If you could remove the speed governors on the non-autobahns we would be really happy.

Those videos are mostly vehicles with standalone computers with northstar motors, and they are not like an Aurora. The Aurora pcms are a lot more complicated. If you can prove you can remove an Aurora speed governor, I will send you one today. Those videos are also ajxtcmans videos. Do you have any videos of your own to post? lol

Those are not stand alone ECM's they are all GM PCM's. Some are a hybrid setup, but most are the OE Caddy PCM's I ran a 12.58 in the Fiero with a Caddy PCM.

If you have a tech II why do you need a vin? Go to a salvage yard and get one, you shouldnt take somebody else's

#1 I don't have time to go get a VIN. #2 GM changed the Vehicle Information System (VIS) about a year ago In this change GM now drops the Build Sheet for 99 Aurrora's. Before last year I could get 95's, but not 92's. I can make up VIN's by just adding 1 to the last 8 of the VIN from the start VIN. If I can't see the build then it would take forever to get complete VIN's so I could check the calibration build. I now what Calibration Number I need -- 9366136 L47 U.S. AURORA WITH FV4 OPTION This is what comes up when requesting the RPO build sheet

So it's roughly $140 ish for a tune.
What kind of power gains, etc, are expected? Does this allow for fuel curve modifications, etc, possibly a solution for adding something like a turbo or supercharger?

It's hard for us to know who you are and what you do if you haven't told us yet. ;D We generally like intros and/or pictures if someone is going to come on ACNA and ask for one of our VINs lol

Don't know how relavent this info is to this thread but this guy talks in this article about how his car was fitted with some very special ECM programming from GM's guys, specifically the GM Delphi STS that competed in the 1 lap of America in 98. Interesting things of note that his car has. www.mcsmk8.com/97sts/97-STS.HTM

I guess. If there has to be a limiter 145 is better than 109. So how much does this cost and what do we have to do? Can you do anything else besides raise the governor?

This is getting old btw. We have been playing this game for years of you popping in and out, never giving straight answers, just dangling the carrot in front of our nose.
You may be the only one that is even close to programming our cars. If you can do it, then give us the info, proof, and prices of what you can do. We are the biggest Aurora club in the world, not only our members, but the Aurora and Cadillac owners we all know that are not on the club. So if you can tune our cars, and this is you business, it would be beneficial to everyone, including you, to give us some straight answers. Otherwise quit wasting my time.

I agree.. Can you please post straight answers for us? These indirect answers are frustrating.
Example: Question: What would it cost to remove[/i] the speed limiter? Response: Is 145 ok?
No. 145 isn't removing it. If it can't be done, just say it can't be done. Honesty and up-front answers make the happiest customers.
Direct, accurate, informative answers would be great, as I'm sure many of us here would be customers. I know I will if we can get more info =)
