Has anyone with the 4.0 Northstar engine had any success with Iridium spark plugs, such as Denso or NGK? I am currently using the AC Delco #41-950. The reason I ask is that I used the Denso Iridium Power spark plugs in an '88 Cadillac with great results as far as gas mileage and throttle response. Thanks

I'm currently using some NGK Iridium's in mine with no problems. No better, no worse, except they were cheaper haha

NGK definately makes some spark plugs for AC Delco. Which ones I don't know but if you look at the AC Delco plug and compare to NGK they are identical.
As a matter of fact, most anything that's AC Delco brand is made by the same manufacturers that make the majority of aftermarket replacement parts. Eg. - Gates makes their belts, and Raybestos makes their brakes.

2nd gens come with Denso iridium spark plugs from the factory. They also don't use the waste-spark ignition setup.

Pretty sure mine had the factory plug when I first changed them: Denso PT16EPR-C13, GM part number 12561466, AC Delco 41-987. First set went about 60,000 Second set went about 90,000
All said made in Japan on them...

They also don't use the waste-spark ignition setup. That's true, I was going to mention that but I have no idea what gen the OP has. So I figured I'd just stick to the fact that GM had success with them in the 2nd gen. But it's a good point, if you have waste-spark, they may or may not be a good choice. Though I used NGK iridium plugs in my LT5, which also has waste spark, and never had any issues. But I also only put about 20k miles on them.

I went with the NGK Iridium IX since they were in stock locally and also cheaper than the Denso. I have a first gen Aurora, FYI.
