This happened about a month ago I just haven't post it because I have not done the best job of taking it into reality myself . I came out from a Department Store and my mom went to get in the passenger and shouted and said "LOOK!" and I dreadfully walked over and saw some asshat somehow managed to screw up BOTH the passenger side doors, I mean I could half understand maybe hitting one door a bit then turning the wheel away and cutting away from the car, but the Aurora is such a long car it looks like they hit the start of the front door then turned the steering wheel TOWARDS the car and really plowed into the rear door THAN finally was like OH WHOOPS steered the wrong way MY BAD, UH IDIOTS! Anyways and of course the next 2 or so weeks I was going to add collision coverage UGHHH!!!
And the kicker is on eBay there was 2 nearly PERFECT toreador red 1997 aurora passenger front & rear doors, but they were $199 each than it would be about $250 for shipping on both, $600 which IS worth it but, right now there's some things I need to spend and fix mechanically, it DOES need painted but I never wanted this; the Aurora's exterior wasn't the greatest it needed a paintjob but the body had no damage aside from a tiny deep scratch on the fender which can be skim putty'd out.
Just so sad there's people who are so selfish, I would NEVER do something like that, honestly if I bumped a car I probably wouldn't stop but if I did any kind of moderate body damage to a car i'd DEFINATELY leave a note (even if I didn't have insurance i'd leave my name & number). Also in parking lots as long as nobody is hurt cops won't come to an accident scene, and worst of all insurances won't get involved and technically someone can drive w/o a license and w/o insurance in a parking lot plow into a car and have the cops called and walk away without even a slap on the wrist because it's not 'public roadways'! Not too mention this is the second car I've had the side smashed in from something that wasn't my fault (that's why I scrapped my last car my 1994 Mazda MX-6 LS).
If I could afford to fix it it'd be one thing, but no you can't hit any other car that say maybe has a loan and requires full coverage, or anybody who is not a broke, in-debt, poor college student just trying to make a future for himself while fighting to survive just normal life!?!?!
But i'm done, i've been parking way across the parking lot & pulling in sideways taking up 2 parking spaces, and I recommend this to EVERY owner her who dosen't want any body damage sitting at a parking lot; I used to laugh and kind of roll my eyes at people who took 2 spots and thought "Wow this guy thinks hes such a big hot shot!", but no it's neccessary in this hard & cruel thing we called a world, and even if you don't think your auroras exterior isn't showroom quality, it dosen't matter if you don't have any damage and wanna keep it that way in parking lots park at least half way down and pull into 2 spots sideways, OH and get an LCD Paging Alarm System with a LOUD ass motion sensor horn & one of those accident cameras which starts recording when it senses the car was hit (which I will be investing in both once the car is fixed, or if I end up getting a new car DOWN THE ROAD OF COURSE!).
Luckily the doors still open and close okay, and it drives fine but still *** ***** and like I said despite the cars age I was weeks away from adding collision insurance... And it sucks because I've seen sooo many cheap 98+ Cadillac Sevilles around here for under the price of what I COULD of sold my Aurora for if it would of stayed undamaged!!!
It never surprises me how low people keep sinking, if people didn't have a life-vest's on the world would of drowned by now!
Cheers everyone, and keep those Auroras safe guys DOUBLE PARK, DOUBLE PARK!!!!
