It is technically a WAI. Spectre P5? No clamp or anything holding the PVC(or ABS) to the MAF or is it a really tight fit? I'm sure it sounds throatier though!

Bend a piece of aluminum to block heat from radiator n engine bay and you'll be okay. Look at IAT while driving to determine the effectiveness, in comparison to outside temp.

it's an extremely tight fit. and why would it be a WAI? For it to be a cold air intake it has to do just that, draw cold air. I took two stock pipes and some flex pipe and have the intake piped down through that hole so that it draws air only from inside the fender. If it draws air from inside the engine bay then it is warm air- the engine is warming it up. I'll take a couple pictures of mine so that you can see it.

I was thinking about doing that but was worried if water splashed up into the filter down there because there r a few holes

Intake Air Temp. Mine don't look like that^^ nice btw, but it stays within 2 degrees of outside temp which is the main goal.
