The April/May Feature goes to shelbyracing. This feature is especially excellent because we now have another confirmed Shelby swapped Classic (with pictures, no less!) to add to the list! ;D Congrats, Robert!

I would like to thank all of you, it is truly an honor This forum is awesome and I have received more help on here than I could ever return. I will let you guys in on the journey I have gone through in these past 5 yrs. It has been a roller coaster but I have been trying very hard to get her finished.
I bought her in June of 08 when I flipped my truck. Looking for an SUV I saw the car and was a little curious as to what it was, the guy encouraged me strongly to take a ride in it. So I did and I loved it. I felt like I was a pilot and I was just floating down the road ;D.
Then I started to feel the power and put flowmaster Super 44's on their K&N filter and removed intake resonator lol. I was loving it until that following Winter when I wrecked her I was heartbroken!
So I started to repair her slowly Thought everything was great, and life was good; even though she was burning oil worse and worse. After that much work I always talked about a Shelby engine or rebuilding it. The Shelby was more of a fantasy at the time. She was smokin like a diesel
Then on the way to work one day I heard a chime and my oil pressure was 0 I was thinking **** **** it finally happened. I drove it back home after work with 0 oil pressure and parked it for a year not knowing what to do I jacked up my truck and fixed it from where it was flipped. I longed for the car though
So finally I found a Shelby engine on Ebay and ;D ;D I was very very excited. I know some think it is just a crate motor but I've heard from a few that the Shelby crew installed EGR plates to block off what they didn't use. Plus there was a brass bearing in the crank for a MANUAL Transmission. I had the craziest time trying to bolt it to the trans with that in there haha, I tried and tried then lifted it back up to discover that was in there. I and my friends say they can hear more of a lope too ;D
Here is the egr plates i was talking about plus that is actually a pretty decent design for a manifold
I've been trying to get every last hp and foot lb I can possibly get out of her every since. I tried to do a multi stage pearl paint on her but it took me like 4-5 hrs of painting layer after layer and by the time I was done it had gotten too cold for the paint to set up properly and condensed it was upsetting but I'll finish it someday
Most recently I've finished the true duals ;D and gotten new rims cause my center caps kept breaking. I hope to get it finished this year, maybe I still hope to finish the paint and install a little NOS ;D
Thank you all, you guys are awesome!
