Hello all!!
Just changed the oil in my Aurora, used Pennzoil Platinum Full Synthetic 10W-30 w/ Purolator Classic filter. What do you guys run? Just curious!
Edit: I screwed up and wrote 5W instead of 10W

Valvoline Max life 10w30 (syn blend), mine holds 8 quarts. Ditto that for me. I ran Valvoline 10w30 full synthetic in mine until I hit 75K, then switched to Valvoline max life. I'm running 5w30 on this oil chance since its so cold here, just in case. Always delco filters. No Fram BS for me. ;D

Mobil1, mainly for thermal breakdown protection in the event of running hot. I change the filter whenever the DIC says change oil, and I change the oil about every 10,000 miles.

Schaeffer's has 2 friction modifiers. Molybdenum disulfide and their patented Penetro. I've tested both individually on a friction test, awesome stuff. Prevent wear on start up. It's sorta like having a chromoly plating on your bearings Molybdenum disulfide has like 250,000 psi shear strength IIRC EDIT: 500,000 psi via Bobistheoilguy I use 5w30 and add a pint of Moly oil treatment for a little added thickness and protection. ;D

Different brands but always 5-30, fully synthetic, no junk oil, only oil that is approved by the GM with the correct specifications. I change twice a year on all vehicles. Filter must also be approved by the GM. In my youth (!) I had an old Volvo 121 and I mounted a cheap filter of less good quality. 300 meters asphalt and the car underneath was oiled, the filter was not tight after awhile. The lessons provide knowledge!

I have only used the stabilizer. It just makes the oil thicker, amd if you have any lifters chattering when iys awfully cold outside, then the stabilizer will work great.

Since buying my car last May, ran Valvoline Max life 10W-30 in the summer and now 5W-30 GM dealer bulk fill for the winter. Change about every 5K when the DIC drops below 20%.

I'm a big believer in Max-Life too. I've used it since it came out and it has cured my old smokers/leakers of their bad habits.

Ford's new motor's have moly coated pistons (super awesome!), they ran it through a stress test equivalent to like 200k miles (Can't remember exact #) but they tore it down in front of a crowd and the pistons still looked brand new. There wasn't really any wear at all, it was on a dyno stress test. That's why I like moly stuff (esp Schaeffer's moly grease, or any brand really).

It's much cheaper, and i know a couple of guys (personally) that have been running it in there N* for years with no problems, or lack of performance issues. Ive always ran Valvoline Max 10W-40 synthetic blend during summer, and 10W-30 in the winter.
