So I went ahead and purchased a PCM from MADTUNER (Ion). I kept my factory PCM incase down the road, I wished to go back to the factory settings. Ion has spare PCM's, so although it costs a little extra, it's definately worth it for us daily driver guys. The PCMs are 13+ years old so you never know.
When I recieved my PCM from him, I installed it and my car my immediately started up and idled perfectly. I went ahead and had my fan settings changed, had the shift points changed, rev limiter removed and the tranny firmness increased by i believe 25%. The changing of the shift points truly woke my car up. From off the line it was slightly quicker. From 20mph it was a beast. From 50mph, 55mph, 60mph or 65mph launching, it felt like a V8 camaro. I was extremely please. There were some dead zones, but overall the response was great. I was even chirping 2nd!!
There were some things I didn't like which was on me b.c I asked for those changes, but it was a "ya don;t know till ya try" kinda thing. I spoke with Ion about it and he stated he offered a one time free of charge PCM setting change. So I told him there areas I would like changed. 20mph, 50, 55, 60, 65mph full throttle was great, but I told him I need more throttle response from 30-40 and 70-80. I also asked him to return my transmission firmness to stock b.c I didnt like the hard feel.
I recieved my updated PCM and amazing! My car runs awesome, the responsiveness was improved. On my way to work this morning, I merged onto the highway and did a rolling launch. I moved from 50mph and around 58mph I floored it. It exploded like a bat outta hell. I went all the way to 80mph and just saw nothing but headlights near the pack of cars that were once next to me LOL. After 80, it continues to pull much better as well. I swear it feels like a V8 camaro from that launch lol. Having my transmission returned to stock setting is much better too. It does better without.
So nothing but positive things to say about Ion. His customer service has been excellent as well and he always answers his phone and takes the time to talk with you. If he doesn't, he does very well with answering e-mails.
