I'm bad with the correct part names, but i believe its some sort of inner stabilizer bar or inner trail arm. There are 2. They both attach underneath the car in the center and link to the control arms with bushings. They are not tubular, it looks like flimsy sheet metal and probably twist during turns. To keep it simple and not remake the connection points, has anyone simply cut each end then just weld a tubular bar to it? The car has to benefit from this im sure.... thoughts?

Yep #26 exactly. I saw the custom ones on the riv forum you linked it to, i rather just keep it simple and weld a rod to the bushings and reinstall it.....i think that will help and be the least expensive. Plus i could paint in with gloss black enamel and it will look much better than factory which is good enough for me.

Well, you still need a way to make adjustments. If the rod is going to go into the factory 'rear tie rod' and welded to the bushing then okay. UNless I missed something.

Yea i planned to cut the factory piece right before each of the bushings, then just weld in a solid bar to make up that difference. Sand it up, paint it and good to go. This will be a real easy project for me since my buddy is a welder.

I replaced the part that is referenced in the post this past spring. I ordered off rock auto. What I presume are the original lateral link bars (#26) were smaller and not as rigid as the new ones I put on. There could be some improvement made to the OEM bar as a piece of 1" x the length of the bar metal sheet could be welded for a "boxed" affect.
I would also tell you to take a picture of the adjustment bolts located where the bar attached to the underside of the frame (not the control arm side). I didn't do this and have to get my rear end realigned. If you don't the cars @$$ end will slip out around every turn or over every bump!! Not fun....
