Its been along time since I logged onto ACNA's site, and was looking for some Canadian members as well. Glad to see you all. I'm in Toronto and have a 2001 Aurora 3.5. Bought it new and as it gets older the mechanics are quite the learning curve. I noticed that someone on the main site had mentioned to an American member that it was too bad he wasn't in southern Ontario because he had a great mechanic who in his case had done a head gasket repair for $1,200.00. If anyone knows who this mechanic is or any other good mechanics who understand the Aurora, I would appreciate a heads up. My email is listed possibletemp@gmail.com
In the meantime I'm in Toronto. I probably missed the meet up in Aurora Ontario, but it great to know your out there.

Hey dawn, you actually didn't miss the meet. We still haven't followed through with that. I just got my car back from the body shop a few days ago and its gotta go in again soon for a few days. and im waiting on my new custom lights to come in sometime next week, otherwise I'm good to go. We'll keep you posted. So how do you know you need a new head gasket? Where in Toronto are you located? So far there are only 3 members that have spoken up who live in Toronto. You me and anandsirah. Together we should be able to service our Aurora's. You have an FSM?

Hahaha my thoughts exactly. Anyone free this Sunday or next week sometime?
OFF topic, but anyone hear about this new and revised method of E-test they are doing now? Supposedly they don't measure the particles from exhaust anymore.... they hook up obd2 and make sure all is working properly and well with all emission parameters..... my buddy was telling me this... and he says even new cars are failing... I'm feeling very insecure with this p0410 code and intermitant p0141 code.... along with this smell that seeps into my cabin from somewhere... uggggh

Next week might work. Yeah, they started doing the new test this year. If your CEL is on, you automatically fail. If more than one of your emission control systems are "Not Ready", you fail. Just seems like more money grabbing from our lovely new Premier. |

my question, whats stopping someone from clearing/wiping or even flashing their ECU before going in... and lets say maybe deleting the code from the system all together?

If you wipe your codes, your systems will be "not ready" until you complete a drive cycle, so by the time they become ready, the light will come back if the problem is still there.

and what if you reflash the ECU without that code..... my buddy was thinking of doing that to his Bimmer....

Right on brotha, good to see your still active/alive on the forum. I'll be good to meet anytime after this week. Still have lots to work on with the car, she's definitely going to keep me busy this season/year, but what the H3LL. Would be nice to see some inspiring Aurora's I eventually aspire to get mine to.

I'm in Oakville. I went to the last Toronto meet in 2008 with JimW and centenialman. We met at "ricer Timmy's" near Dundas and 403. I'm up for one in the GTA, but because of my moving plans it's a limited time offer! Hello GTA drivers So when is the next meet up?!? I live in Brampton steeles and Mavis .
