Very old news and next to nothing can be usable under our hood. They cater to to sand rails, kit cars and the likes.

lol. i said performance parts, not LED lights!
i just sent for the 310 deg cams,Springs, Retainers, and shims. and found a Holley Commander 950 engine management system for 900 bucks! (with software and Cable) used ;D head work is a little pricey, but 50 cfm and +100 HP? that may have to wait till next summer.

Yeah, Renaldo they have been around for quite some time. There are a few members that were considering and/or said they have/had purchased cams(and the trimmings) from them. AuroraBrain, NineFiveFourOh, ScottyAurorav8 and few others probably. NineFiveFourOh was the closest building up a nasty 4.6L but he hasn't been on in awhile. When CHFRAB was first mentioned around here years ago they had the same parts basically but almost abandoned it altogether and in fact did abandon it because at that time there was no way to tune the PCMs for the gains(on their BIG project). Now we have two options for PCM tuning (NOT AJ). So, not sure why one would buy the Holley 950 system for their Aurora. There is 950 for sale with wide band 02 sensor option for sale for $750. Want the link, let me know. Then again all I know is how to light up an LED hahaha. Most recent 'discussion' was here: If you want aftermarket parts for the northstars, check out Cadillac hot rod fab. They do a lot of northstar work. Maybe you could make the cams work in our cars(with a tune and other stuff) but likely nothing else they sell. They've been talked about here before. It's mostly for people throwing northstars in other vehicles and sandrails. 3800 most defintely has the most aftermarket availability between the two. Earliest discussion I have seen on CHRFAB is 2007. Here is a sample of any mention of CHRFAB on the forums: www.google.com/search?client=ubuntu&channel=fs&q=chrfab+site%3Aaurorah.proboards.com&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8#channel=fs&q=chrfab+site:aurorah.proboards.com&safe=off&start=0... and this a post from CHRFAB.... Re: L47 4.0L Aurora V8 Engine. Post by Alan on Fri May 30, 2008 7:22 pm The racing Aurora engine was a purpose built Indy engine, not near the same as the production Olds Aurora engine. A lot of our high performance equipment will fit the 4.0L engine. For example, the cams are the same as the 275 HP 4.6L engine. I believe the ecu up to 1995 can be flashed. Newer ecus might be capable of being modified by LS edit or a program like that. We have put larger injectors, cams and a turbo on a factory car and the ecu kept up. A few things (sensor inputs) had to be fooled. Alan"

Haha, but it IS old news VERY old news, Aurorabrain knew about it, and he stopped being active on here before I even joined. Get any of that stuff and you'd definitely be talking to Ion about a tune soon after unless you ditched the PCM altogether haha.

SInce I have the 01' Aurora with the 373 gearing like that of the STS, I'd love to get the 300HP N* cams popped in there, with CHRFABs stronger retainers/springs, along with MADTUNER's tune, but I just can't afford it right now. I think it be awesome having a nice lope on this "grandpa" looking sleeper, that almost nobody knows what it is..... I'd love to pick up an extra set of heads and do some polishing in there also....I love this engine. I guess you could swap to the 4.6 and get the extra 50 HP/TQ, but I like the idea of having the engine it came with.

From CHRFAB website under "getting started": The 2000-2004/5 front wheel drive engine has larger intake valves (a good thing), but smaller exhaust valves (not good). The GM engineers changed the heads, water pump, cam covers, and ignition system. I don't like this engine and we don't have many parts for it.

LOL to each their own. Those guys are a waste of time unless you have a sandrail or Pontiac Fiero. And what do they mean the GM engineers changed the heads , water pump, cam covers etc...? Changed them from what? BTW....Andrew your headlights look awesome!!!!

Compared to 95-99 4.0L/4.6L engines. But yes they won't even speak to you really if you talk about putting their products in stock street car.

Here's a pic of 1 of 4 cams, the 272's I bought. Alan from CHRFAB said that my car should be able to run these cams with some tuning. More of all my build goodies ; ). This is something I'm still gonna do, I just need a little bit more money and time, all I have to do to build the engine is had the block done, then I can put it together. I'm building a trans through Engineered Performance in ATL, the only big thing after that is building the headers and exhaust.
