Back in August I decided to enter both my ’72 Cutlass and my ’01 Aurora in the All Olds show for the Northeast Ohio Olds Chapter.
My friend (who is also an Aurora owner) came to my house, dropped off his car and jumped in my Aurora to get both cars to the show.
We ended up at a light on a 4 lane divided highway. Being early Sunday morning, there were no cars on the road, so we decided to the cars a short “exercise” session.
Just to clarify, we never broke the posted speed limit.
This video was the result…

It does run quite well, especially for only having a 3.08 rear gear.

Doesn't surprise me. Both cars probably have nearly the same HP, but with nearly double the displacement and probably double the low end torque, it's a no brainer as to which one gets the jump off the line.

I had a 1972 442 W-25 455 before my Aurora. I gave it a good tuning (very easy & fast back in the days of distributors & carburetors), and put on turbo mufflers. I also got rid of the hood scoop hood and put on the older bumper scoop ram air system. I never ran it, though. I took just one pic of it, and then only of the engine....................................................................

Envious! Want! So nice to see a good looking Cutlass Convertible, with an old American V8 steel from Lansing, beat the crap out of the small aluminum Aurora V8s! Thanks for sharing
