On my 2001Aurora, I've been planning on having a friend of mine who is a welder, box the rear trailing arms, or just cut the stockers and weld a nice piece of cylindrical steel in place, then just rebolt them. Has anyone thought of this too? Or actually done this? To prevent any downtime, I want to purchase a pair. I saw O'Reillys sells them as a pair very cheap, for $76. They are Moog brand. How would these compare to the stock ones? Would the bushings be just as good, or quality in general? Too bad there's no poly bushings available for these or this car in general. Either way. As soon as this is finished, I'm going to powder coat them and before install, I'll post some pics, then same when they are installed.

I remember seeing a post on the riviera forum and they did it much similar to your idea with the cylindrical tubing. Here: rivperformance.editboard.com/t7827-write-up-custom-rear-adjustment-linksI just put Moog arms on last winter as mine were getting rusted out. I have no complaints. I also looked at energy suspension for poly bushings as well. True on not much available specifically just need to do some research and cross check part numbers and body styles. There is ALWAYS something available just need to dig P.S. unless you mark the adjustment bolts on the arms...you will most likely need an alignment when completed. Sent from my XT901 using proboards

I read that link. That guy Robo really went all out. It was cool what he did, but i think I'd be good with just a boxed OEM bar LOL. That right there would stop the bar from twisting under load and it be a simple weld.I think the results would be good enough for a tighter feel during turns etc...

Napa also sells a rear sway bar end link bushing kit listed as "synthetic rubber," which to me sounds like it be urethane. Anyone look into that yet?

If fabricating the brackets is the issue for not already running poly, let me know. I have tools to easily make them.
