...on a Classic, I just can't grasp 30 psi on a radial (this isn't a Corvair!) But at 38, it rices like a truck. I do have the performance suspension and autobahn options, but what is optimum from an engineering standpoint. Just curious.

I stick with the tag on the door, works for me.

I run mine between 32-34 psi. Whether it is the 235/55/17s or 255/35/20s. You can't go wrong with the door sticker but just don't exceed the max rating on the tire. Anything that high is gonna kill the tires though. On another note there is not a performance suspension option from factory so not sure what ya mean there. It is upgradeable though !

I think 30-32psi is nice to ride.

33 or so seems to be the best compromise between wallowing and jarring. I have a 3 letter RPO code on the trunk label (can't look at it now) that coded to performance, maybe "FE3, Suspension sport", but maybe they all have that? Thanks!

Suspension upgrades for the Classic are 22mm rear sway bar, strut tower brace, lowering springs, KYB GR2 struts, and poly swaybar/endlink bushing for front and rear. Rear shock tower brace is in the works but expect little improvement from that. 95-96 can benefit from the '01-03 front sway bar as well, but no so much 97-99. I'm not familiar with the Classic ever being referred to as FE3 equipped, but I have been wrong before . That makes mine like FE5 lol.

My '98 has FE3 Suspension System Sport listed on the RPO sticker, haven't checked the '97. Trunk is packed in that one at the moment. Will dig it out later.
Door label on both says 30F/30R. I run 32F/29R.

I run 32F/29R. Yeah that's my fault Both mine are listed as FE3 Suspension System Sport as well but that doesn't change the fact it can be upgraded and improved upon on. If you are interested in that you can check out the performance section stickies. I would assume they were all referred to as FE3 as are the 2Gs.

Yeah sall. I think I've read somewhere that they all say that too. My '98 is definitely stiffer than the '97, but I attribute that to it being barely broken-in!
