Its just a thought, but I think a white 2g Aurora with the OEM 17" rims would look great if they were gold. Kind of like the 95' Pontiac grand Prix gtp at the time, or the gold the wrx rims are.... I was thinking about this b.c I am currently getting a second set of 17" aurora rims rechromed and the thought actually crossed my mind. Anyone feel the sane as me or is it too 90's...

I agree with Marc and Sall, chrome looks best imo but plastidip could give you a good idea of what it would look like, and if you dont like it you can peel it off. Plastidip comes in several colors, but you might have to order it online, i can only find black in stores near me.

It could look pretty sweet with the gold emblem trim!

I think he means like Dayton wire wheel rims gold. Maybe more in the bronze-ish category.

Yikes that gold-rimmed 2G photo above is hideous!! Haha ... please don't do that to your Aurora. I'd stick with chrome too... there is nothing that looks as nice as bright, shiny, mirrored silver rims. There are other phases of rims that come and go; brushed aluminum, gold, black, body-color-matching, gunmetal gray, but nice cars always come back to chrome eventually. The interlaced "honeycomb" gold rims on the 90's Grand Prix and Bonnevilles weren't bad, but I would (and did on my '98 Bonneville and later transplanted onto my '99 Aurora) choose the chrome option every time.

Porsche 911 Turbo was the ONLY one that could pull off the gold rim. Pontiac gave it a pretty good shot, but really not even close, lol!

The gold chrome would look ok if it were a lighter shade of gold I think

Maybe if the car had a lil bit of gold chrome on it to balance out the gold chrome on the rims only then would it look alright but I'm not a big fan of chrome I mean a lil bit fine but when people start putting gold trims around the lining of the doors and between the door windows I think that's doing too much but that's only my opinion. Besides gold is played out now.
