I navigated to the “Classic Aurora Mechanical Maintenance” forum and selected the sticky titled “1995-99 Aurora Maintenance "How-To's". I then selected the article "Replacing A/C compressor on your Classic Aurora”. The link would not open and instead I received an error message that stated “Oops, there was an error. The thread you are trying to access could not be found.” I tried a number of other items in the list only to find the same problem (not all). CH

Yeah, PITA ain't it? lol! You can copy the name of the thread to Google followed by site:aurorah.proboards.com For example, searching "Replacing A/C compressor on your Classic Aurora site:aurorah.proboards.com" yeilds this as the first result: aurorah.proboards.com/thread/2192

You're welcome. They'll fix the links, ...eventually ...maybe ...I've heard.

The problem that I have run into as a newer admin to this forum (within the past couple years) is that at the time of the switch to V5, all of the sticky links worked. Being that V3 links worked in V4, I didn't know that they wouldn't work in V5 as well so I didn't know that they needed to be updated. Now with the update to V5, the "backwards compatibility" if you will of the V3 links has broken. V3 links worked with V4 but not with V5, in a nutshell.
I'm talking with proboards support to see if there is any help there, I'm close to resigning myself to delving into the forum to find them. The problem is that the name we have given them in the stickies is not necessarily the name of the actual thread, so some of them are hard to find.
Thanks for your patience, everyone!

Also a bummer that most of the helpful photos in older posts are gone and there's no fix for that.

Alright ladies and gents, I have fixed most of them in the Classic Maintenance how-to. Who knew this would be such a headache? ProBoards didn't retain functionality with V3 or earlier links, which is why we've been having so many problems. I have talked with ProBoards support about this at length and there's nothing we can do; no way to revert the board back to V4 to get the link titles or anything of the sort. The threads are here, I just can't find a couple of them as the descriptions of the how-tos in the stickies might be different than the thread titles. I am working on this as well for the future. I have already fixed quite a few in the 2G Maintenance area as well, that is in progress. When I finish with that section I will add my list of threads that we still need to the current list below. After a few hours of searching I have come up with most of the missing threads. Here are the threads that I have been unable to find. If anyone happens to come upon them, throw the link up here if you please. Thanks, everyone! - Transmission Diagnostics (for the 4T80e transmission)
- A/C Blower Control Module & Blower Motor replacement
- Oxygen sensor replacement in 95
- Swapping out the VSS (Vehicle Speed Sensor) Just a single helpful post in here, but possibly: www.aurorah.proboards.com/thread/5067 Couldn't find any other threads about this with pictures/writeup structure.
- How to replace the belt tensioner (Could this be Water Pump Belt Tensioner? I found one of those that's a how-to. Stickied it at the top under Rob's. Just want to know if anyone remembers a different writeup for this.)
