i tried to view the write up for replacing Ac compressor but it doesn't have anything but a oops message. I was planning on replacing it later this week, but I want know what I'm getting into first. Is there another besides the one in the how to's list?

I found the link to the thread. This is part of an ongoing problem we're dealing with since the switch to the new v5 board; a lot of the older (v3) links have broken and I am going back and finding/updating. I must have missed that one. Sorry about that! Replacing A/C Compressor on your Classic AuroraHopefully that helps, this is the thread that matched that description. I have never replaced a compressor on my own but I'm sure many around here have and would love to help!

Thank you sir, I needed that. There is one question: I have a new Ac delco compressor I'm installing and the instructions say you must manually circulate the oil into it first before installing. I don't know anything about that so if someone has any information I'd appreciate it.

I don't know anything about that so if someone has any information I'd appreciate it. Are these the instructions that came with your compressor? This is sort of a grey area as some compressors have 8 ounces, some partially filled, or some no oil at all. You should be replacing the accumulator and orifice tube as well which changes the amount of oil that should be in the compressor if you are flushing the system and starting from scratch. Before running the engine you must rotate the compressor by hand at least 10 turns clockwise to get the excess oil out of it and into the system to prevent damage to the compressor. This might be what the instructions are referring to but the way they are saying it is sorta confusing.
