Hi, I'm seeking a small bit of trim on the upper part of the driver side front fender. Color available is not important, although the greenish teal color is what I have. I'll post a pic of the 1995 (g1) as soon as I can take one. This is a common piece to lose I suppose if you go through a car wash. Also missing the little arrow shaped tabs in each upper corner of the rear window. and the clip for the reveal trim, rear window bottom. Any of these trim pieces I'd be happy to find and pay top dollar for. Sincerely Blu52 in Vegas

"Hi, I'm seeking a small bit of trim on the upper part of the driver side front fender."
I have an extra one that is silver teal metallic.
What part on the rear windows are you talking about exactly? I will look at mine when I get a chance to try to figure it out.
I have a '97 parts car in storage that is silver teal metallic, with blue interior.

Hi Randy, It would be great to have any or all of those bits. It's such a drag to have such a beautiful car "I have to admit the teal is my favorite" missing that front fender trim. The other black bits are really unnoticeable unless you really know the car but if you are into the olds like I am, then you want the whole enchilada. KWIM? I've been into Olds for a long time. My second car I got from my dad in 1969 was a 1957 Olds J2 with factory tri-power if that means anything to you. It's a car with a storied history, not mine but the car in general. It too was an exceptional vehicle. For the life of me. . . . I can't understand why the market didn't take to the first gen Aurora better. It WAS expensive but it also was a bargain given what you got for the money. Almost twenty years after it was built every single little thing works on mine, interior is excellent and at times I get 30 mpg on the highway, 17 or better around town. Hey, it's not a dragster but it'll get you on the freeway with confidence, what more could you ask of an old car?? Except to be pretty which is where you come in. I hope. If the pic comes in I need parts for the areas in red circles, You'll know when you see the parts cars. Sincerely Steven PS If you have and can spare the parts lemme know how much and how to ship? You already know how much I want them. LOL.
Yes, this was my father's Oldsmobile and mine too. Best sled in Eastern Oregon. I'm sure everyone that's interested in this site must have visited this Wiki link.

Hello Steven! That is a pretty nice looking Olds! I was able to find the triangles, but they are in poor condition and did not come off in one piece, the triangle part is complete. I was not able to find any of the rear trim clips, I thought I had a few, ,but I can keep an eye out and try to find you one from salvage next time I go, may be a while, but it would not be much to ship. But I can send you the drivers front fender trim for $16, shipping included, I will throw in the triangles and you can see if you can do anything with them, if not, then toss them. Paypal is preferred, send money to aurorarandy4.0@gmail.com, if you don't use paypal I can take a check, you would have to send me a pm for address info. I got out of parts selling for a while, but trying to get my paypal back in working order, should all be good now, but let me know if you have any problems. I like your color, btw, my daily driver is a '97 silver teal metallic with blue interior. I have a 4.6 Cadillac motor installed for a little extra power. I recently saw a '96 silver teal metallic with black interior, I would like to have that. Have a good day sir! Randy T.

Thanks Randy, I've tried to take down that old address a few times but it just keeps popping up (for everyone but me) I can't get it to come up so I can delete it. Anyhow glad the money part worked. I need to ask you one more question since you've pretty much seen every inch of a g1, as I said, mine's a 1995 and I believe the paint color is the silver teal metallic GM paint # WA129A also known as light teal. My question is where is the service parts sticker supposed to be on this car. I think it must have fallen off, or never got put on. I checked all the usual places, including the glove box, under the spare tire cover, under the seat where there is a HUGE battery and two black plastic "ammo-box" sized electrical boxes I'm not too sure yet what they do. Part of the Bose system maybe?? Impressive electrical throughout this car. Off my actual question though . . . where oh where could they have hidden that sticker that has the paint number on it? Thanks again for letting me know about my address problem and (if you get around to it where that darn sticker is hid). The location is probably mentioned somewhere in the FAQ here but I haven't seen it come up yet in the treads. Nonetheless, have a good day. Blu52

The sticker is usually under the spare tire cover, but '95s are a little different, so I am not for sure on that one. The boxes under your back seat are both fuse panels, there are lots of fuses in our cars. You might be able to find the info about your paint with your vin.
I will have your boxed shipped this morning, I tried to go to the post office and have them change the address yesterday, but I do postage online, so I had to change it online.
Thank you!

OK, thanks for the heads up Randy, I'll have an eye out for the mailbox. I contacted GM about the paint and got this back. "The General Motors exterior paint code for VIN 1G3GR62C1S41****** is 34U (Light Teal Metallic)." So, now I'm certain of the color and the paint number. GM 34U is the same as Silver Teal Metallic 1995 Aurora WA129A. Now I can buy some touch up paint. BTW on this 95 g1 the sticker is definitely NOT on the underneath side of the spare tire access cover,(where sane people would put it) it's just like it came from the factory . . . nothing but instructions on how to change a tire and chain up are stuck to it. Nor is it near the jack or anywhere else in that compartment. From what I could glean from the other threads on the subject it's behind the carpet on the rear lip of the trunk. If it's there. . . there it will stay hidden because I'm not gonna pop out the clips and open that area until I absolutely am forced to. I have the info I wanted now (thanks to you) so all is good. And that's also nice to know about the fuses/breakers, I hadn't gone poking around for any yet. It's a great place to put the panel because you don't have to lie on your back in the dark. About those pesky triangles, I got to looking at mine real close and now I'm thinking that that plastic and metal molding from the bottom of the rear window all the way to the tip of the 'triangle' is one solid piece. (rubber and metal together) It appears that on both sides of my car the metal has been torn off at 90˚s about 2 inches below where the triangle should be and that might just be part of the reason why it was difficult to remove the ones you had, in other words it wasn't really made in two pieces. It's pretty flimsy stuff, about like real heavy duty tin-foil but it's apparently what they used instead of an end cap on that piece of trim. I'm guessing the tabs of those triangles just wrapped around the upper corners of the rear window glass (cut at an acute angle there) and that's how they get a grip and stay held down. Not the best system given car washes tend to grab onto pointed stuff like that, especially so, given the fact you can't get that molding trim anymore, or so I assume, unless you know different. I always bucket wash my cars BTW.<g> I've included a rear pic, from the day after I bought the g1, if you zoom the photo you can see the the arrows are missing on both sides and the torn metal showing. I like to hang onto good stuff once I get it, the blue Nishiki road bike I've had since 1982. Thanks Again Blu52 Steven
Here's how she looked at the auction preview, can't believe no one else was interested in her.

Good job on finding the paint code! Let me know how the touch up paint looks, I probably need to order a little myself.
I thought those triangles were pretty hard to get off, that explains why they tore off like they did. I tried to pry the whole piece off but that stuff was stuck in there pretty tight. I wish it was held down like that on my driver, I have a little gap on the left side where you can see the metal, kind of like yours. Some members here went through an extensive search, and the window trim is not able to be easily found.

Hi,
If you happened to include any of the little arrow shaped metal tabs in the box you've sent here's what I'm going to do... I just noticed this morning that since that lower clip has been missing a good long time, the entire molding strip is beginning to come loose at both ends. To reattach it properly it really should be cleaned underneath, so, I'm going to gently pull it all off, clean both sides with alcohol and the exposed painted surface, then I'm going to buy a tube of black ALEX plus,($2.50) a water based Latex caulk-like substance that works well as an exterior cement. I've tried silicon based products but they don't last any longer or hold down any better (in my opinion) but if you ever need to redo the job it's much easier to take off and there is a safe solvent you can use to un-stick it. Not to be morbid but, the glue may not outlast the car but it will most likely out last me, so I think that'll do. I may take some before and after pictures if you have any interest seeing the change. Oh, and if you should happen to come across one of those bottom clips I could use one but I may just try to manufacture one out of a little sheet aluminum, I mean how hard could it be??? I'll let you know how that comes out.
Sincerely Blu52
