do these lights come on when needing new brake related equipment? when i first picked up the car it was intermittent , now the lights stay on as soon as the car turns on. i have looked at the brake pads and they do seem like they need some changing pretty soon.
i did read that ABS+TRAC OFF can turn on due to a bad wheel hub assembly *$60 for both front hubs with speed sensors ebay* .

Does the "SERV STABILITY SYS" message appear on the DIC as well?
Be careful with spending $60 on hubs from eBay. I'd recommend SKF brand first and Timkin next.

No stability messages appear on the DIC. and my scanners won't pick up any of the abs related codes. I'm hoping the brake pad changing will eliminate the abs+trac off.
Lovely electrical bugs jajaja

If you just have TRAC OFF and ABS lights you should check and clean all 4 wheel speed sensor connections. Drive it for a day or two and see what the car does. Sometimes reseating those connections and cleaning works wonders.
If that doesn't work 1 or more of your wheel hubs may not be reading the proper resistance when rolling. In that case a new hub is in order.
The ABS module could be at fault but from other threads on this forum and personal experience it is unlikely.

I've checked the wiring, cleaned the wheel sensor plugs and reseated the front 2. The rears are on the to do list a long with brake pads on all 4 corners.

I bought medium priced hubs for the front from Rock Auto. A little over 5K on them now and so far so good. I too would stay away from very cheap ones off ebay. Be prepared to have a wonderful time pulling the hubs. One came off with a gentle tap with a hammer. The other was rusted solid and took an hour with a 6 foot cheater bar and hub puller to break it loose. And that was after soaking it down with penetrating oil. I also destroyed some cheap wheel pullers. And yes the new ones have alot of anti-seize enjoy ...gene

Hey guys, I've read a couple of these ABS/TC threads and there is one thing that still makes me wonder. Every time it turns out the wheel speed sensor is faulty, you have to replace the whole wheel hub assembly, as it's a part of it, right? I always thought so and did exactly that, when it failed on my Seville. Now I've found something interesting in one of our polish shops: a wheel speed sensor alone... Look here: I can't find anything like that on either Rockauto or any other car parts shop I know. And neither do I have an idea on how would I install that on the hub? Or even more - how would I dismount the old one? Has anyone tried that? I got my ABS scanned and it showed front right wheel speed sensor - cleaning the connectors hasn't helped so I could either buy one of these (around $12) or an SKF hub for $100 (I've had a cheapo one on the Cadillac for 2 years and second what you say about them ).

I have this TRAC OFF light on as well, and I've experienced a soft brake petal at times ever since i had a brake job done on my car about 9 months ago. I had one shop tell me recently that I needed a new master cylinder, but I was unsure as to that diagnosis. i felt it was just some problem with not properly being totally bled correctly. Today I visited a new fellow who has recently acquired a new Snap-On diagnosis tool. He tried bleeding my brakes but came up with a code that indicates that the electrical portion of my ABS system was at fault. He felt that if I got this replacement ABS module, then he could proceed to get my brakes total bled,...and that would also turn off my TRAC OFF light. ??
