Hi,
My power steering pump pulley is making noise and I'm gonna replace it, I have I ordered already and I just need to know what tools I will need. Do I need a pulley puller, or does it just slide off. It looks like a hex nut holding it on, what size is that.
Thank you

The pulley doesn't have bearings so changing it will probably be a fruitless endeavor. Pulley is press fit and turns the pump. Which is likely what is making the noise. Whatever that noise may be. Care to describe?

Have you checked the fluid level or swapped in new fluid?

Yeah, I have checked the level. Seems fine. I bought the car in September last year, and the noise came on a few months later. There is a steel tube from the pump, down to somewhere, sorry bad description, that was replaced as I bought the car. It was leaking, so the fluid, I assume was replaced. But I'm not 100%. It does whine a bit when I turn the wheel. Maybe the pump needs to be replaced. As for the whooshing noise. We are not certain what it is, but it does sound like its coming from the power steering pump. I appreciate the help. I try to do some repairs myself, but I'm not a mechanic. If you have any more ideas, I do appreciate them. Love the car by the way, F'n sweet, and I want to take care of it. I just broke 90,000 and besides a fee things, this car is mint.
