I've become smitten by ANOTHER Aurora, its a 2001 4.0, but the paint is lifting on the roof by the front right piller, small quarter size or bigger spot. I'm guessing its dried out being 14 years old, but my question is could it be just a bad spot or a sign of things to come?
Thanks

Bad Paint??!?!?! NOT POSSIBLE!!!!!! This one spent most of its life under southern Live Oak trees, whose leaves are rather acidic, and which fall year-round. As for your issue, paint is fallible, and nobody paints perfectly, and 15 years is an awfully long time for anything to remain painted when it lives outside in the weather. GM through the 80s had notoriously poor paints, although they improved considerably in the 90s. Different colors have different life expectancies, too. Your basic vanilla white is almost a forever paint in most cases, while some blues will be flaking off by the time you get the car home from the dealership.

I was going to ask what color it is, I'd say a good 80% of the white Aurora's I've seen have this issue in at least one spot. The paint on the pillar of my car has this problem too.

Yes common sight on 90s GMs. Bad white paint adhesion. Not too common on 2Gs though aside from the front of the hood bubbling. Some vehicles just aren't properly cared for. People are inherently lazy now days it seems and cannot take time to hand wash and wax at a minimum.

This brings me to my questions as well my hood keep getting bubbling issue it was repainted 3 times last times free by same shop they said that i need to get new hood cuz this hood has aluminum rust and there is no way to paint it without having an issue again. It was repainted in march now the bubbles appear again. Is this true that in need a new hood or i need to find a new buddy shop?

Paul, aluminum oxidation is no different than any other metal oxidation. If you don't get rid of all of it, you'll see it again.

You have paid them to the job correctly. Make sure it happens! It sounds like poor prep work though and improper painting for aluminum. I'd do something like Alumiprep 33 followed by Alodine 1201 and awlgrip 545 epoxy primer and then top coat. After getting rid of all corrosion via media blast.
