2 days into my 2001 Aurora experience, and I'm already wrenching it. I thought it was just mine, but it seems that a lot of these 2nd generation Aurora's have a real sloppy fit between the hood and the nose. It's not actually a 'gap' but enough to be a bit of an eyesore, ruining the lines of an otherwise gorgeous body. I have to think that it certainly does not help the aerodynamics either. I considered getting a bra for it, but I don't like the idea of black on a white car, and it's not 1988 anymore. I'm considering going to the junkyard, and just grabbing some thick rubber weatherstripping from the hood of a 1987 Ford, just to break the air flow. Is there some way that this can be adjusted?

This means that the car was repainted or bumper replaced or something in that nature. If everything done right there is almost no gap Like on picture below when my car had 22k on it.  Now my car has 152k and bumper was replaced and some parts of that foam thing is missing so the bumper doesnt seat right and there gap on top and right below the head lights since the foam is not holding in place that side. |

Yeah, kind of a fatigue/time thing. Don't get the Classic guys talking front fascia sag, they seem to have it worse than us, lol! Anyway, mine isn't bad enough to bother me yet. Is yours better or worse than mine?  |

Is yours better or worse than mine? Yeah when I saw the thread title I assumed it was a Classic haha. I had no idea the 2g had the same problem. A number of us classic guys have rigged up some sort of bracket to hold the fascia in place. I haven't had to resort to that yet. |

I might have been born yesterday, but I was up all night studying, and I'm catching on quick! I've been seeing that fascia word in thread titles left and right. Had no idea what it meant. Mine's worse that any I see in this thread. It is also held in place with nylon ties. But still, it seems tight, and appears to be where it should be, and the hood doesn't seem out of line. Oh, and by the way... all 4 of my window motors work just fine! I'm starting my detailing right now, and will post some pix when it's good enough to be seen by the mentors.

Mine is held up in place by some improvisation by the boys at Maaco across the street from my old job. Yes, the fascia will sag if left to its own devices. And a bra will no more prevent it than it will on a woman; it just disguises the issue until one day you take it off to wax the car, at which point you discover that you are now driving a two-tone car. Pass.

I heard a tow truck driver describing when one of his cohorts attempted to tow an Aurora with a sling. Basically the big straps that fasten to the undercarriage and lift under the bumper to raise the car. it was not a successful tow......

Four black panel nails on my classic, drilled in then glued in place. I recessed the holes, smoothed them with red lead, then touched up the paint with a q-tip so they're almost invisible.
No more droop ... lines up nice!
