Hi I'm having issues with my 98 aurora. I have good flow through the hoses and radiator it doesn't seem to get any warmer than normal buto the temp gauge steadily rises I haven't let it get too warm because I don't want it to get too hot I've pulled the thermostat and it still does the same thing. Did a good power flush as well everything seems to be working as it should but the gauge has me scared so my baby has been parked for way too long

Could be a bad/malfunctioning ECT (Engine Coolant Temperature) sensor.

Guys, is 225 or so at idle about normal? Depends on scenario really. Ideally ~200*, cooler on the highway. On a hot day in stop and go traffic, 220* yeah is acceptable at idle but should drop back down once you get get moving.

What parts do you have new besides radiator? Could be a number of things.
Things to check:
Blockage in opening in bumper for radiator Water pump Thermostat Water Pump belt and tensioner Headgasket

He didnt mention anything about bleeding air out of the system. my vote goes to a bleed. Since he seems a little new, he might want to drill a hole in the thermostat.
Also...
IS your waterpump working and is the BELT on it? It is separate of the serpentine.

The head gasket is probably a huge job I don't know if I want to turn into that much LOL but I have replaced water pump thermostat those belts nice tight nothing blocking the radiator so other than head gasket I don't know

Go to the parts store and get a coolant hydrocarbon test kit (aka combustion leak test kit, block test kit, etc.). Just ask, they'll know what you're looking for.
At least you'll know.
Head gasket replacement isn't especially easy or cheap on these engines...
