So.... uh... anyone seen one of these before??? Or is it just some kind of weird roof cover? How would that even work with the b-pillar and rear doors?

I'm thinking a Member posted a picture of that car, saying something like His wife thought that Aurora was really really ugly. For some reason, he had the roof covered in vinyl, so it looks like its a convertible. (I expect they put extra folds or padding in the material, to make it look like it's stretched over something.)... The result was, his wife likes the look of the car, as a phaux-convertible.
If it were a Classic, I'd guess they covered up a peeling paint job. Maybe more of the 2nd Gens than I thought, have this same problem.
I would have seen it, when I was roaming through the Forum, or searching for something. I can't for the life of me remember what [the search] might have been, or what you would go look for, to find it now. I can't even remember what they call that type of covering. (I want to say "tonneau," but that's just stupid.)

Landau is the word you're looking for. A simulated convertible.
It doesn't look terrible, just not my style. Kinda dated.

That style was very big during the 1970s. Looks very much behind the times now.

Yeah, those were very popular on Cadillacs and Lincolns back in the '80s and '90s, especially in south Florida. When I had my Caddy after the first Aurora, I was very, very thankful it didn't have that abomination of an accessory.

Haha, here's a nice little detail I missed at first glance. 3rd pic zoom, enhanced contrast, sharpened edges... Wonder why they didn't use the Aurora emblem?
